We stayed here on the recommendation of friends who had been here many years ago. At first we were surprised to learn that the "hotel" was made up of individually owned condo units that rent by the night, so each unit, while similar in layout, is furnished uniquely according to the owner's taste. It has a bit of a beach motel feel about it at first, but we found it to be serene and tending to cater to a quiet bunch. The units all have kitchens, which is handy if you stay long enough that you want to cook. Several nice surprises included the heated pool, the beach (with access to adjacent beach extending behind other condo units), the Tiki huts with picnic tables and gas grills, the lovely sunrises over the ocean, the Sunset Park two lots away from the Continental Inn, and the safe, self-contained and walkable community of Key Colony Beach (a different feel from the US-1 Marathon strip). The nicest surprise was the friendliness of the repeat snow-birds who came here year after year, tending to spend longer and longer periods of time at the Continental Inn.
