“Best Bed and Breakfast Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This is a wonderful relaxing get-away run by a terrific couple, Bill and Theresa. Our first stay at a B and B and we loved it. After arriving and parking the car we were able to walk to the historic sites in Fernandina Beach. We even ventured the mile and a half to the beach. We awoke to a great gourmet breakfast every morning and in the evening were served delicious refreshments. And did I mention, they also have a pool. Too cold for a dip (January), but enjoyed lounging in the sun. Try it, you'll love it.

Room Tip: Our room was on the second floor and the ambiance was great with a big 4 poster bed and sitting area...

My second stay at Fairbanks House was even better than the first, and that was quite special. This time, I arrived just before the social hour, during which wine, hors d'oeuvres and the inn's special treat, Wine Slush, are served. A Slush is like a frozen sangria, but better, less sweet. The innkeepers are quite particular, and this is reflected in every piece of china, the exquisite appointments (even in the least expensive room) and particularly in the quality of food and wine that is served. Any guest "issues" are treated discreetly, including my need for gluten-free fare. A stay at Fairbanks House is a balm for the soul, and the innkeepers are incredibly knowledgeable about the community. They always know what is going on and have menus or event tips to share. Each of the two times I visited, I left hoping I could return soon.

Room Tip: All the rooms at the inn are special. I heard the innkeeper mention that there are one or two rooms...

“Christmas 1885 Style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

A christmas tree in our bedroom, a carriage ride through the historic districts in town, a few great breakfasts....what could be better you ask? How about wine and munchies around 5 each night, a treat from Santa on Christmas morning, dinner at an amazing restaurant. How about super innkeepers who seem to have the answer to everything and know just what you want, when you want it! Our fellow guests were so nice! I think Theresa picked them just for us because they were all fun and very interesting!

“Christmas time in Amelia”

We had a wonderful stay at the Fairbanks House. Theresa and Bill couldn't have been nicer. This was a complete surprise for my husband as it was his Birthday/Christmas present. And the much needed honeymoon that we have never taken. Once Theresa and Bill had collected information from us regarding our trip they made it more memorable then we could have asked for. We highly recommend staying at the Fairbanks as it is the best breakfast and hospitality on the island.

“Top Notch Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

What a wonderful bed and breakfast for a girlfriend's weekend getaway! Rooms were so much more spacious than any other B&B I've stayed in. Perfect toiletries and eco-friendly as well. Honestly, not only were the owners the most helpful and accommodating that I have come across, but they served the yummiest breakfast ever! (Which is even more fantastic due to the fact that I have a gluten allergy and they made me feel like just another well-fed guest :).) At the end of our stay, we were given a lovely tour of this old mansion and I can't wait to go back.
