“Nice on the Ocean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Stayed in Omni Hotel on the ocean. Rooms are somewhat dated but still very nice. No refrigerator however which was very inconvenient. Private balcony overlooked golf with view of ocean. Can walk/run for miles on beach. Called tennis pro to arrange matches with locals of same level. Ordered poolside service for lunch and ate at the restaurant there which was just so-so. The next night went to town for pizza. There is Harris Teeter grocery store nearby. There is golf cart that will take you around the resort.

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your oceanfront accommodations! We pride ourselves on our scenic and isolated location along 3.5 miles of beach - perfect for watching the sunrise, sunbathing, running, horseback rides, boogie boarding and soon to be the location of our Beach Club bar and grill allowing you to dine ocean-side for the first time at our resort. Currently our resort is undergoing a re-imagination project which will conclude in spring 2013. During that time our resort pool is closed, but we hope our guests we take advantage of all the other wonderful amenities we offer over the next year and a half, including golf, tennis, spa, shops, nature center and our beautiful uncrowded beach!

We apologize for the inconvenience about the refrigerators, currently there are no plans to add them to our guestrooms. Our sister accommodations product - The Villas of Amelia Island Plantation includes multi-room condos with full kitchens along with exciting package offerings such as the Golf Giveaway or Tennis & Tour package perfect for groups of four.

We hope to see you again soon!

“Value Extraordinaire!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011 via mobile

Don't let the fact that they have started construction on the main pool disuade you. The resort more than make up for that plus they have 20 more pools if that is your thing.

The resort is huge. Loved the Marche, trails and gym. Great service. You cannot beat this for the price!

Thank you so much for your review noting the array of amenities and activities available during our re-imagination process. You are correct, the beach club and resort pool is closed until the grand opening of our new hotel tower and beach club poolscape in spring 2013. In the interim, we hope guests will find enjoyment in our golf courses, tennis facility, nature center, spa and shops area, as well as our diverse dining venues. Beginning in March, we are opening a Beach Club grill and bar directly on the beach, allowing you to dine ocean-side for the first time at the resort. We will also have an array of beach games, activities and water slides available for all ages. We hope to see you again soon!

“Great return visit after 25 years”

We returned to the Plantation to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The grounds were immaculate. Our room had the best view of the pool and beach, The room was very comfortable and clean.
The quality that makes this resort so special is the quality of the staff from top to bottom. Everyone makes you feel special. Attention to detail is part of the DNA of this place. They really do go the second mile for you.
Room service was among the best and quickest we have ever seen.
The restaurants are excellent. Try the Oceanside Grill and the Verandah.
The shopping on grounds is also very nice.
They are breaking ground on an addition which I am sure will add a state of the art dimension to the resort which is needed. Our bathroom was a bit dated although very clean.
This is a very good value compared to similar resorts.

We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us. At the Omni Amelia Island Plantation it is our goal everyday to provide the best service possible and to create memorable experiences for all our guests. You are correct about the additions. We held our official ground breaking ceremony on November 18th and began construction on November 20th. Currently the Beach Club and resort pool are closed until our grand reopening of the new hotel tower and new beach club poolscape in Spring 2013. During the renovation period our resort still has an array of amenities and activities to experience, including golf on 36 championship holes, tennis on 23 Har Tru clay courts, spa and salon treatments and nature tours. We also have a 20 yard indoor pool at the health & fitness center, as well as guest access to the Dunes Club Pool a short distance from the resort. Thank you for taking the time to write an excellent review of our property and we hope you will not wait another 25 years to return!

“Unbelievable Service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

We went to the AI Plantation for a Pediatrics Conference. We were very impressed with the quality of service throughout. The bartenders in the lounge were very friendly and make a mean "Indian Summer", which became our cocktail of choice for the trip.

Breakfasts in the hotel are sumptuous, with unlimited amounts of grits, oatmeal, sausage, bacon strips, usually a special egg dish, fruit, yogurt, etc. Also there is an egg/omelet station for custom made omelets or cooked to order eggs. One day they had sticky buns which were out of this world.

The shuttle service to restaurants and shops was super convenient. At no charge, we could simply walk out of the hotel and hop on the shuttle to be taken to a variety of restaurants. The drivers were friendly too, and it was nice to be driven back to the hotel after some wine and "Indian Summers". Veranda had great fish, Falcon's Nest had fantastic burgers, and the Ocean Grill had elegant and tasty steaks, but also the world's best Lobster Bisque.

Golf at the Ocean Marsh was fun too.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at our property during the Pediatrics Conference. We hope everyone had as wonderful experience as you! If you'd like to give your mixologist talents a whirl, here are the ingredients to our Indian Summer: Hendrick’s Gin, Thatcher’s Organic Elderflower Liqueur and Fresh Lime Juice. Enjoy, and we hope to see you and the conference again in the future!

“Relax, enjoy, and walk!”

My wife and I stayed at the Amelia Omni for a birthday "get-a-way weekend." The entire resort is located on the ocean yet shrouded under a thick canopy of native trees, shrubs, plants and flowers. It was easy to relax since most of the resort amenities (spas, pools, shops, golf, dining) are scattered across a vast network of well-lit pathways, trails, and roads. So, you had to think twice about going anywhere. I found that you had to plan your stay accordingly yet the resort does provide many forms of available transport and handy guides. This resort does pride itself on it's natural setting. Nature and exercise buffs will love it!
