My fiance's mother has been staying at Cedar Cove for the month of January for 15 years. I have been lucky enough to be able to visit for 1 or 2 weeks for the past 5 years. I cannot say enough about how much I love this place. A short walk across the parking lot and you're on a beach on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. This year we were blessed with 2 weeks of above average temperatures, and almost every day was suited for a day on the beach, and yes ... even a dip in the Gulf! PARADISE!!! But, if you want to venture out and explore, Cedar Cove is convenient to Tampa, Sarasota, Bradenton, and Longboat Key. Endless shopping possibilities, aquariums, museums, fishing tours, short cruises, kayaking ... you name it. The Dolphin Suite is cozy and accommodates 3 to 4 people comfortably (2 bedrooms, 1 with 2 twins, 1 with a queen). Believe me, in this setting you don't spend much time in your suite! Eric and Jeff are gracious and accommodating, and the housekeeping staff are hardworking and pleasant. Some of the suites look directly out over the beach and the Gulf, where dolphins are frequently spotted swimming just off shore, and countless bird species fly overhead ... some diving right into the water for their next meal. Magical! The beach stretches as far as you can see from north to south, and every day people stroll looking for shells, power walk, or jog as far as they wish. Cedar Cove is a hidden gem, and I have seen older couples, younger couples, and families with children in my stays there ... and they all sure look like they're having a great time! Check it out. You won't be sorry.
