If you remember "Old Florida" before the high rises and crowds; visit Holmes Beach. When there; if you want a cozy, friendly and exceptionally clean resort for you and your family, visit Cedar Cove Resort. The accommodations are great, including a great beach, Tiki Huts for those times you want out of the sun, plenty of chairs/chaises and lots of beach toys for the kids!
We have visited several times and each time, we see improvements. Keep up the good work Cedar Cove. We're bringing all three grandchildren next time.

After reading all the reviews on Trip Adviser, I was very exciting about booking a stay at Cedar Cove. Because we called only 6 weeks before our visit, there was only one room available with a kingsize bed and that was "The Sunflower Cottage". I am sure we would have been happier if we'd stayed in another of the lovely rooms that we saw online. Our room was an efficiency. It was cute and clean. The kitchen area could use an upgrade. The toilet and shower were separated from the room with a somewhat broken accordian door. There was an odor in the bathroom. There were 2 wicker chairs with thin cushions to sit on in the bedroom. Because the weather was very windy and somewhat cold, we did not spend the time on the beach that we'd hoped for. Instead we had our morning coffee and afternoon wine and cheese in our room where we were not comfortable on the chairs. The mattress on the bed was also not comfortable and I left with a flare up of an old back problem. This cottage, across from the main part of the resort, is a recent add on and clearly not up to the standards of the main hotel. And although it was not a problem, we were unaware that unlike a motel, the resort did not come with housekeeping services (there were arrangements for fresh towels if needed). It took us a day to figure out that there was a handy dustpan and broom outside of our room for sand clean ups. For us, although we loved the funky atmosphere, the room was just not comfortable.

This was our third time staying at Cedar Cove; we stayed twice last year and again this year. Eric and Jeff are great and are very accomodating to any needs that you may have. The rooms are all great and offer any type of accomodations that you need; whether it be for a couples romantic getaway or a family get together. The location to the beach is perfect with a beach that offers everything; sun, sand, surf, wildlife sightings and amazing sunsets. Holmes Beach is a great place to get away from it all and get some R&R. The surrounding area (Sarasota; Tampa Bay and Bradenton) have so many things to offer as well. We will definitely visit again!!

It was my third time vacationing on Anna Maria Island and had to be my best. Cedar Cove was a great experience from check-in. Jeff and Eric where the best! The room we stayed in was so clean and comfortable. The beach and grounds were wonderful. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing and hassle free vacation.
