The Waves is perfect if you are just looking for a comfortable place to stay for a few days of fun on the beach, surf fishing or fishing in the Intracoastal Waterway, or on the Dania Beach Pier (1 mile north), and the bicycling in both Hollywood and Dania Beach is fantastic, not to mention the bike path right along the beach and then on the boardwalk with all its cafes a few blocks south of The Waves (but careful cycling on the boardwalk when the sun is out, it gets crowded ;). Hollywood and Dania Beach are the most bicycling friendly cities I have ever ridden in - I traveled by bicycle and train from Miami, took the TriRail to Hollywood, and then biked to The Waves - no hassle at all! There are actual bicycle lanes, wowwww!!

So there's nothing fancy about the place - if you require that sort of thing - but it's very peaceful and quiet at the north end of Hollywood Beach, beach is literally just steps away, less than half a block, and it's uncrowded and a friendly, family-oriented crowd, nobody bothers you (nothing like the crowded, hassle-to-get-to meat market beaches of Miami .. sorry, Miami ;) .. and I felt totally safe here, important to me being a female traveling alone. Intracoastal Waterway is about a block from the motel across Ocean Dr., and there's a nice long free pier (hidden from the road behind the trees, I just happened upon it looking for a place to fish from shore) about a block down Ocean Dr. to the south, great for fishing!! I stayed in one of the efficiency apartments, and just loved having the full kitchen, especially after paying for an expensive so-soggy-it-was-nearly-dripping-wet pizza from Flicker Lite the first night; I grocery shopped at the Publix (a mile or so away) the next day and was able to cook and have meals in my room after that. The staff is great - Hector is very friendly, polite, and helpful. Now, maid service is not going to come in and clean your room every day, unless you want them to - but they are there to provide you with whatever you need, and, personally, I prefer it that way, like my own little home away from home. Initially had 5 nights booked, but was so happy with the place that I booked another 4 nights, and I will be back!! Thank you, Hector!

I stayed there with my Family . Place is very nice and quiet, "family style". Excellent value for the price - the place is just a few seconds from the beach. The staff and manager at this hotel were so friendly and helpful.
The rooms are very clean and it has a full kitchen and we were able to cook breakfast and lunch and save on eating out, they have a amazing barbecue area wich is great for family time.
If you are looking to stay in a nice, clean & beach access place in Hollywood beach, look no further ,this is it . We cannot wait to come back.

We come to this hotel often as a private get away, alone time away from hectic work and family life. The fact that it is so close to the beach is the biggest draw. We often take long walks on the beach at night and the beach is literally a few steps from our room. The staff is awesome always so friendly and helpful. They have gone out of their way when we asked for a few simple extra things like extra pillows. The rooms are clean and spacious, not cluttered. It is always so quiet and private its hard to believe there are so many buildings that are a part of The Waves. When we have encountered other guest everyone is happy and friendly and also repeat visitors. We will continue going here for our private getaway moments. We absolutely love this place!

I guarantee that is very good and well maintained vacation apartments. Location is excellent could not be better, a few steps to the beach! You can walk, bicycle or roller blade by the boardwalk at any time of the day with no problems. You can relax at an outdoor a drink or café facing the ocean. Our room always had everything that we need. My family and I enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend.
