“Relaxation at its finest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

If you are looking for a quiet out of the way charming hotel, this is the place. This small hotel is beautifully decorated. The rooms are a very nice and the bathrooms are extremely luxurious, with separate shower , stall and bath. Each room has a terrace most of which overlooks the beautiful grounds. Most people staying here are playing golf, so the and large and magnificent pool and area is usually empty. There is sun all day along with shade if you want. The tennis courts and spa are gorgeous as well. The hotel has an old world feel and is very refined. It is my hotel of choice whenever I am in southern Florida.

Room Tip: Golf views are best, there are only four floors so the higher the better.

“Birthday weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I wanted to spend a relaxing weekend with my sister for her birthday. We had the best staycation at the Westin Diplomat. We were treated like royalty when we checked in. They have the friendliest Lobby Host who greeted us and made my sister feel special. His name was Santiago Woll. We enjoyed drinks by the pool, the beautiful beach, and Gulfstream Village. Our room was amazing.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Stayed here 3 nights. Hotel is definitely out of the way...which isn't such a bad thing. Incredible pool and on the ocean. Spectacular views and great service. Could easily pass for a 5 star. Classy resort feeling. I'll be back

Room Tip: If you can get it....facing the ocean. The south tower has better views when it comes to partial vie...

“Great beach location and ideal for short breaks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Spent two nights here to rest after long haul flight from Spain before joining a cruise out of the nearby Port Everglades.
Excellent half way stop between Miami International and Port Everglades and offers visitors a superb front line location so book the ocean view rooms they are worth it for the stunning views over the beach and ocean. This is a large hotel catering as well for conferences so may not be to everyone's liking in that respect. We also stayed just before the holidays so there were lots of families and small children. Mind you the pool area is so large it was easy to find a quiet spot to relax and unwind. Pool bar offers good food and service. We enjoyed the hotel and it's facilities and would come back. certainly recommend you try out the hotels Asian restaurant on the coastal water front accessible via the hotel, super location with outside terrace for dining which was great as was the service. Thank you!

“Quite nice, but covers two hotels (golf and beach resort), which are very different!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

I stayed in both the golf resort (the country club and spa) and the beach resort - they do not have a separate websites for them and market them as the same thing, even though they are different and not really walkable so it is kind of confusing.

Golf resort (country club) - I stayed here first. I had some query I needed help with and the reception staff were slightly awkward towards me, not the most friendly or helpful I have to say (this was just one person). The hotel itself is nice, but maybe some parts are a bit tired. The room was ok, nothing amazing, but comfortable and big. I had a poor view of the tops of some buildings, just bad luck I guess. The tv was big and clumpy, they hadnt upgraded to flatscreen yet. The bathroom was nice but I think the lighting too low (as a female good lighting in the bathroom is a must!) The bed was very comfy I do recall!

Beach resort - my "sea view" meant that I had to lean right over my balcony for a glimpse! The room was nice though, and modern (much more so than the golf resort). Nice bathroom too. Only annoyance was the very loud generator I could hear if I opened the balcony doors, but probably not much which can be done about that. Again I found the fron desk staff ok, not the most friendly or helpful I have dealt with.

Overall for me it was nice but not amazing. I was only there for work anyway, but I didnt feel as welcome as with some other hotels. But I think if I was in the beach resort hotel for holiday I would be happy enough.
