Where do i begin? The overpriced rooms infested with mold and roaches or the lack of towels, working phone, or SOAP!!! The place is absolutely grotesque, and I wouldn't stay there if you PAID me.

Heed warning: do not stay there!!!!! I even spoke to management to get the soap and towels that I walked to the front desk to request THREE times, and whatever manager I spoke with, (larger woman, dark curly hair) was horribly rude and made it clear she had no time for me at all. Bad experience, wish i could give it less than one star.

Where do I start. We went there for a wedding and due to travel and late arrival, we stayed, normally we would have left after driving in the parking lot, and moved on to a real hotel. The Gainesville Hotel and Confernece Center is misleading from the start. None of the signs have been changed from the Clarion Inn which was put under new management sometime around the start of this year. This is not a HOTEL, it is a MOTEL with exterior corridors. Nowhere on the web site does it reveal this. I pulled up a few reviews and it did not look too bad. I did not look far enough. The whole website listing is misleading. The pool has been under rennovation for months, see the reviews if you read far enough. At first glance the room seemed newly rennovated and clean. We were wrong and in a hurry to get ready for a wedding. Closer examination in the morning revealed heavy black mold in the corner by the airconditioner, walls with stains that had been textured and painted over, and everyone had a headache from the bleach used to hide it all. The ethernet connection did not work, the light in the bathroom did not work, the towels in the bathroom are worse than I relegate to the garage at home. More misleading in that this was to be a 2 queen bed room and it had 2 fulls!! The bedding was nice, but the mattress was either so cheap or worn out that 2 people roll to the middle uncontrollably while the too small sheets come off all corners. We could not wait to get out of there, no one showered, and no one slept well. I went back after staying and looked over the website to compare and about all I would say is a fair representation was the address. This is a less than 1 star property and all this nonsense about a new management company turning this place around is more misleading. DO NOT STAY HERE and tell everyone you know traveling to Gainesville to not stay there either.

This is a motel that needs immediate refurbishing. Other than the bedding, everything else was way below normal standards. The walkways were dirty with live maggots seen on the floor. Bedroom had bad odor. The walls had cracks and chipped. Bathroom tub had cigaret burn. Toilet area had noticeable urine smell. Saw at least ten swarming termites in sink area. Water from sink and shower smelled until it ran for a few minutes, The pool area was closed. Ice machine out of order. Trash cans in parking area were all full. Parking lot needed to be swept . In conclusion this place should be inspected by the health department.

I have stayed in a number of hotels/motels and this one is near the bottom of the barrel. I used Expedia to find this hotel where it was rated as a three-star property -- do not believe this propaganda. It's a definite one-star at best. We knew something was wrong when, after we had already checked in and were parking the car, we encountered a number of characters in the parking lot, hanging out, playing loud, booming, rap music. As we walked to the room, we encountered peeling paint on the decking, standing water, and a knocked-down wasp's nest on the stairs. The pool appears to have not been used in some time -- the water level is extremely low and it has been turned into some sort of makeshift fountain (probably cheaper than having it filled in). The room door has a good 1/4-inch gap underneath it -- you can see daylight. The air conditioner's front cover is about to fall off. The bathroom vanity is cracked and stained. There is dust in every corner. The bathroom floor appears to have not been mopped in some time. There are rust stains in the bathtub and the entire bathroom needs a good bleaching. All of the furnishings in the room are dated. There are what appear to be cigarette burn holes in the curtains and the curtains are missing some of the hooks. Everything has been severely neglected. I would not feel safe staying here alone. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone.
