I travel a lot in my job and this hotel is an extremely old Residence Inn and it shows it. Being a college town I guess Marriott has a captive guest list so they don't need to update it. The lack of lighting in the parking lots and the distance the buildings are apart make for a very unsafe feeling. It is also located in a very bad area of town. I am a long time Marriott customer and am Gold, this is one old property you should avoid until it is completely redone.

good value for a very clean, friendly Residence Inn. A little on the out skirts of Gainesville, but very convenient to UF. Bed was extremely comfortable and the room was a very cool temp when we arrived. Also, the hotel staff recommended a restaurant about 2 blocks away that was excellent. It was called Chop Stix! Pet owners beware that there is a limit of 40 lbs. for your animals.

This is one of the newer Residence Inns and it's excellent. The staff is extremely friendly, very nice grounds, spotless, great beds - what we expect from Residence Inns. We've stayed here before and gave it high marks and the experience this time was the same.
We travel with a dog - wish they would lower the fee, especially for repeat customers - but pets are welcome and they mean it - they're welcome. We stay at Residence Inns whenever possible and this is a good as they come.

We stayed in this hotel for five nights. The room was perfect with a king bed and pull out couch for the teenager. Very large kitchen area. Suites set up so that you have maximum privacy. Pool was very pleasnat although the hot tub was a bit too hot for us. The temp in Florida was at or above 90 degrees every day, so maybe that had something to do with it.
Breakfast in the morning was wonderful and Vicky and Theresa who ran the breakfast bar were the best! Theresa in particular gave us info about Florida and always asked how our day had gone. Very sweet!
On weekday evenings, they also offered a complimentary hospitality bar. One night was hotdogs, cole slaw and potato salad. Not gourmet fare, but a bite to eat for free! (Good for the teenager!)
The entire staff was genuinely pleasant and very helpful. We will surely stay here again!
