“a little less than expected, but still okay....pet friendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Booked a two-room suite, to use the term loosely. Clean, and comfortable, but showing signs of age. Only "suite" I've been in that has two very old clunky TV's. Poor picture and no HD.
King bed was comfortable. Staff very friendly.. Forgot they do not provide morning food, other than coffee. Micro fridge, small nuker, and ridiculous Hot Shot coffee maker. Ice not available on our floor. Would use again if needing a pet friendly motel convenient to our purpose, otherwise, would likely stay somewhere else for the $$$.

“Reasonable Rates-Clean, Few Amenities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

This room was on 2nd floor, noise was minimal...Room was adequate & clean...No breakfast of any kind is served.......Coffee & Tea is available any time...You must borrow an iron; ironing board; or hair dryer @ the front desk If available, as there are no amenities present in the room at all - at least not in the standard room...The King room, I believe is different! The hotel is very close to the University of Florida campus (about a 10 minute drive)...

“Very pleased with our stays”

We have stayed at this location 3 times. As members of Red Roof's rewards program, we have stayed at many Red Roof locations in several states, and found this to be one of the best. Each time we stayed we found the room to be clean, comfortable and well appointed. Location is right off of I-75 and within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. We booked our room in advance as part of the 'Cyber Monday' discount promotion, and had no problem getting our discount. Would stay here again.

“Not meet our expectations”

I booked with this hotel because I was late to make reservations and this was the only hotel available and the reviews were not that bad. The room smelled old, the bathroom dirty and the sofabed was the most uncomfortable of all I have used.
It looked old. Not a pleasant stay.

“3 strikes and we check out immediatedly”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

We have stayed at red roof before and like the chain but at this location on this particular day we had a few things that were deal breakers. We checked in nov 28th 2011 and we brought $15 in canned goods for the promotion red roof is running on their national website.Tthe clerk was suppose to give us 15% off our room rate but only gave us a discount of 3%. When we got to our non smoking handicap accessible room, it was obvious that this room had had smokers in it before and although they tried to hide the smell by smothering the room with some cheap scented air freshener, the smell was disturbing to our sensory faculties. We could not address this with the front desk at that time b/c we had an appt at the oncology dept at UF. When we came back from the hospital around 430pm, the small lobby reaked of cigarette smoke. The only person around was the front desk clerk (2nd day on the job) and if it was not her smoking, then she had to have seen who was smoking b/c the front desk lobby and front door area are all within 7 feet of each other. At that point we decided to go back to the room and relax for about an hour and then check out. During that hour that my wife was relaxing, I went to the front desk to inform her of the incorrect 15% discount which she corrected (hooray). I went over to get a cup of coffee and both pots were empty, so I decided to use the 3rd container which was hot water and that was bone dry also. I noticed the front desk clerk was now checking in a guest so I made 2 pots of coffee for her along with the 3rd pot of hot water and then I told her what I had done and she thanked me. There are some things we do not like when we travel. We do not like paying a higher rate than the hotels own website states we should be paying on a confirmed reservation, We do not like smelling 2nd hand smoke in the lobby or being placed in a (non smoking room) that smells like smoke and cheap cover up scented freshener. If you advertise on your hotel website that coffee is available all day in the lobby, then make sure it happens. Hampton inn and sleep inns (nationwide) never let the coffee pots run dry. We checked out at 7pm !!!
