“Nightmare!!!”

No stars!!!! I read the reviews but there were literally no other rooms available in Gainesville for this particular holiday weekend. It was truly even worse than I expected. The finale to the worst hotel stay I ever had was when we came back to the room late in the evening to find no maid service that day! It was a dirty room to begin with. I was looking forward to some amount of cleanliness. I had no phone in my room so I called the hotel from my cell. I was told that she would see if she could find some towels. I asked for four. She came up with just two, all she could find! I dare say, I do not believe they were even clean!

“AWFUL!!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2010

Please friends, do not stay here! We were attending a Gun Show in the Gainesville Area, looked for a few hotels and this was the closest with the best deal and best pictures...Everything looked fine until the gentleman that checked me in DID NOT ask for my ID. I have been traveling for years, stayed at good, awesome, 5 star, mediocre places, everywhere! and I have ALWAYS been asked for my ID, I just said "Hi, I have a reservation under >>>>>>>" and he gave me the key.... That was it. When we went in the room it WAS NOT like Expedia showed me on their website, I specifically requested the room on the picture and it was something completely different. Carpet was dirty, with stains. Beds looked good but when you really smelledthe sheets they smelled like cigarretes. Bath tub was disgusting (hairs) and the toilet did not flush, no remote control (this isn't 1985 anymore) and alarm clock not working. We were too tired after hours on the road and decided to go ahead and stay. 30 minutes into I started hearing people screaming and laughing and partying without anyone from the staff asking them to lower their voices (I think it's one of those hotels where people live at) they kept on coming back and forward from the ice machine, which happened to be right in front of our room. After 4 hours of no sleep I heard this awful noise, it was like an elephant scream mixed with someone getting stabbed... not kidding... it was coming from the ice machine. Got up, went to the office (4 am) Man at desk said he would change us, after making clear he was doing a charitable thing for us.... On our way to the new unit we had to skip the vomit on the hallway. We arrived to the unit, no soap, no iron, no alarm clock, and the tub was worse than the last one, to the point that since we didn't have any flipflops to take a shower with, we had to put a towel on the tub so we didn't touch the tub. Please do not stay there, do yourself a favor and your family as well. Thanks. (worst $58 spent ever)....

“MOLD MOLD MOLD”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

This hotel should be condemned! I checked into a room and two hours later, my daughter became extremely ill. There was mold all over the ceiling in the bedroom and bathroom. I went to the front desk to ask for a refund. She said I would have to call Travelocity. I called them, they called her and she said she could not approve a refund, they needed to call back when a manager was on duty. They are now refusing to issue a refund saying there is no mold. They lie cheat and steal! DO NOT STAY AT THIS DUMP!!!!!!

“Just bite the bullet and pay for a room elsewhere... not worth the savings”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

Booked this room through Hotwire.... rates at other locations were quite expensive due to it being first Gator game of the season, but we were traveling to town for a funeral and on a budget, so I took a chance on this place... I wish I we would have just paid the higher rate elsewhere. Hotel is in the 'process' of being renovated, but I don't think there is much going on in that regard... breezeways were filthy, passed a laundry room with dirty clothes and lint all over the place, I also noticed rooms with door knobs missing. In the room we had a king bed, but it only had 2 pillows, no phone in room to contact front desk, the towels were tiny and crunch and we had one mis-matched washcloth, there was a dead bug on the folded towel in the bathroom, I also woke up with red bumps (bites) all over my body in the mornig... we couldn't get out of there fast enough. In my opinion this hotel should close it's doors until it is renovated or work harder to clean up this dump!

“Awful Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2010

My sister in law booked two rooms with a travel agency. When we got to the lobby to check-in, my husband tried to give his credit card as we wanted to pay for the room ourselves, however the front desk clerk didn’t take it saying that it wasn’t possible. I noticed that there were two other guests complaining about different issues as well.

After my mother and daughter got inside their room, they got locked in - there was no handle on the entrance door. My mother went to call the front desk only to find that the telephone was dead. Luckily she has a cell phone and was able to call me, and I then went to the office to get help.

In addition to the door issue, we were very surprised to see that there was only one bar of soap to be used both at the sink and the shower, and the toilet paper holder was broken. Also, the toilet in the other room was leaking, which was never corrected after we advised them of the issue.

When I checked out, I asked the clerk at the front desk to change the credit card information again, however she insisted that this could not be done. When I told her my dissatisfaction with the hotel she merely responded by saying that she would let someone know.
