“Beautiful Property”

Stayed here early February, weather wasn't too nice but this resort is very nice. Requested an upgrade upon check-in to a ocean-front suite. Room was very nice and clean. View was gorgeous. Unfortunately this was off-season so a lot of the hotel ammenities were still closed. I am definately going back this summer with my daughter. She will love it. Front staff were friendly. Location was good, right down the beach from very large entertainment complex. Ample paking.

Room Tip: if you want ocean front views, make sure you request a high floor level.

Thank you for sharing about your recent stay. We are glad that you had such a wonderful time with us. As you mentioned, the view of the Gulf just can't be beat. When you return this summer, your daughter can have fun in the Splash Garden and join in our childrens' activities too. Thanks for visiting and we can't wait to see you back again!

“Worst Manager Treatment Ever!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We stayed here last July. Our reservation was for 3 rooms for 6 nights but we left early. There was my husband and myself, our daughter, two special needs grandsons, and my mom. We had requested connecting rooms several times, as it is so much easier with the handicapped children, and were told it could be done the day before we arrived. It wasn't. We complained and Rachel (night shift) said nothing else was available and that no one was leaving for the whole 6 nights. BTW - We saw people leave next door to my mom a day later, which was a connecting room (as just one example.) They were supposed to call us to let us know if they could do anything. No one called. All of us were in all three rooms. No one called. They as much as called us liars and said they did. The next day, the front end manager - Jennifer - called and said nothing could be done. When I said we would probably leave early, I was told - and I quote - "Wonderful. I'm sure I can rebook the rooms." When I said I would complain to headquarters, she told me to go ahead. It would just come back to her to handle anyway. WHICH I GUESS IT DID. I sent a detailed letter to the Wyndham Hotel Group and received a wishy-washy response about how they were sorry things didn't work out, ya-da-ya-da-ya-da. So I guess they just contacted the hotel to tell thewm about the complaint, and since the major offender here was a manager herself, she just filed it under the "I don't give a crap" category. If this is how they treat senior citizens and special needs children who are looking to give them 3 rooms of business for almost a week, then they don't deserve anyone's business. I hope one day Ms. "I don't give a damn" Jennifer knows what it's like to have handicapped grandchildren, although I would feel sorry for them! She's a poor excuse for a manager and the Wyndham Hotel Group stinks when it comes to customer complaints. Stay somewhere else, people, anywhere else. They don't deserve your business and your money.

Thank you for taking time to share your experience. It is unfortunate that it was not possible to accommodate the special request for connecting rooms for your large party traveling together. We strive to fulfill all requests but sometimes it is just not possible. As I’m sure you noticed when you visited, June is a very busy time at our resort. With the high volume of guests there is also a high volume of special requests that we do our best to fulfill. Our staff appreciates your family and all of the guests who choose to stay with us. It appears from other experiences that you have shared on this site, that you frequently have very similar difficulties when travelling. We wish that you had stayed and enjoyed the many things that make our resort a special place to make family memories.

“Good value”

Let me start out by saying, this is NOT a four star hotel. Having said that, it is a great place to stay for the money. Nice clean beach, close to good food, fishing pier, attractions, etc. keep that frame of mind and you will not be disappointed... If you are looking for luxury accommodations and on site fine dining, better off somewhere else

“great property, private beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

we went with two adults and two kids ages 4 and 7 and we all had a great time. the rooms were a little dated but thats ok because you dont just stay in your room when you are on vacation anyway. the attention to detail from the lobby to the lush gardens and the pool area were well worth it. they have two pools one regular and one heated and they offer you either the restaurant by the lobby,or a barbeque hut by the garden where you can enjoy fresh barbeque and have a beautiful view of the gardens. there was a tiki hut with souveniers and a dive in bar by the pool with a neat waterfall to swim by. we stayed for a total of 3 nights and on the third night that we were there they even had what they called a 'dive in movie' in the heated pool we all got in and there was a huge blow up screen in the pool with a kids movie on. a very cool experience to do since we have never done anything like that before. i would definitly recommend this hotel you will not be disappointed!!

Room Tip: get either a beach front room or a pool front room for the views

“Overall Good Time”

Had a pool view king size room. It was nice but looked a little worn down. The interior could use an update. The property was great even though a lot of the things were closed for the off season. But the gardens were well manicured and appeared in nice and the hot tub was nice in the cool evening we were there. We had the breakfast buffet for $10 before we left it was ok for the price nothing to write home about.

We are so pleased that you had a good time during your stay. The compliment of our tropical gardens is much appreciated, as there are many hands that work to keep the flowers and plants flourishing. Thank you for your review and we hope that you will stay with us again.
