Upon arrival, the rental seemed to be nicely decorated and clean. HOWEVER, there were several things that did not work- the ceiling fan and light in one of the bedrooms, hot water in the kitchen, the light in the dining area. Still, we were okay with that and would just make do. We woke up our first morning there and had no electricity. It seemed to be just our unit experiencing the problem, so our calls to the 1-800 # they gave us for emergencies were not taken very seriously. Several hours later, after waiting around and delaying our plans so that we could accomodate them coming to fix it,I saw a maintenance person and asked him if he was there to fix the problem- he had not even been told about it. He got to it quickly and thought it was fixed. Several hours later the problem happened again. Maintenance again fixed it, stating that it was the main breaker which was not in the room and could not be accessed by us. Within the hour, it happened again. It seemed to be something within the hot water heater and would go out anytime someone wanted to take a shower. While I realize that this is not something that could be controlled and that maintenance did their part in helping us, management did not. We had to spend a lot of time without electricity, waiting for them to come and fix the problem, and schedule our showers around them coming to turn the water heater off and on. When we asked them to compensate for the trouble it caused us, they originally said they would give us 15% off cash back, but then changed their minds and would only give us a voucher for a free night to be used in the future, which would not work well for us since there were 3 of us splitting the cost of the room.
