Hilton continues to impress. Maybe it's getting a tad old, and sure, maybe there's some wear and tear, but you know what? They're getting 5 stars. That's because I checked in, enjoyed my stay, and checked out, without any BS or hassle. The employees were courteous, as always, and the place was clean. Cleanliness and courtesy is really all I ask.

As far as the rooms, there are a few that are literally on the beach- like you actually walk out the door and onto the beach. There are also a bunch with a Gulf view on the floors 2 and above.

For the price, there's really no reason to look any further if you are looking for a place in the area.

We wanted a quick little getaway for the weekend and got so much more for the price. We were able to walk out of our room onto the beach. Walking distance to several restaurants with good food made it easy for us to just enjoy a bit of solitude at all hours and the breakfast area of the hotel was a very nice wakeup with good food and excellent service. Some of the higher priced properties in the area would make statements like "You get what you pay for." to encourage you to pay their rates for a mediocre experience. The Hampton in Ft Walton is not the Ritz and is not intended to be, but for those of us that dont have the disposable income of the Rockefellers or movie stars and still what to get away for a nice weekend, it Rocks!

The room was very warm and welcoming. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was very good.

We stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days in late October and were impressed with the services and especially the breakfast offered. Very good variety and something different each morning on the hot food selections. The lady who worked as the breakfast room attendant was very friendly and sweet personality. Very quiet atmosphere and close to the beach. We didn't rent a car so walked to the boardwalk shopping and restaurants about a 1/2 mile away from the hotel. Only thing directly across the street from the hotel was Fudpucker's. Room was nice but not ocean front but a short walk around the corner of the bldg. to the beach. Pool was not in a good location off the parking lot and no view of the ocean from there. Overall a good visit. Would stay there again.
