The back entrance was under construction this trip which was inconvenient but you can't beat the location. This is my 3rd time staying here. My last visit my room smelled like wet dog. This time my room was much fresher. There is no onsite dining but luckily there are plenty of places close. Just blocks from the downtown area and close to the water.

Jan. 2012. We travel with two small dogs. We like the pet.friendly La Quinta brand. This Ft. Walton Beach facility is head & shoulders above any other pet friendly place we have stayed. It is only 3 years old. it is beautiful and beautifully maintained. The staff is warm, personable, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. We opted for the King Suite. It was perfectly comfortable & spacious. The first floor location was perfect to access the designated & fenced pet walk area complete with doggie pick-up bags. Many of the neighboring rooms housed guests with dogs. It was nice to meet them and their pets too.
