I have been here twice now and both times have been pleasant, Let me state though that I am more driven by price and location than luxury.. This place is nice, close to food and beach. Had a billing issue on the second visit. Due to me changing dates and then room type. But this was resolved without an issue. I like the place. we will be returning again in Sept 2011. And we will be staying there. I think you get exactly what you pay for. Considering this place is on Fort Myers Beach.

Environment- unkept, unsafe. Black dirt in shower. Needed to request to have room cleaned before unpacking. Holes in bedspread, floors not swept prior to arrival. Lightbulbs burnt out in hallway, unable to replace light bulbs upon request due to maintanence not working till a.m. Safety concerns abound thoughout motel. Window latches broke. Office closes at 11 p.m. if you arrive late they put a map plastered to the window with your name on the main entry door directing anyone to your room. Management does not have customer service skills. Would not recommend staying in this motel .If you appreciate customer service and a safe environment, look elsewhere.

although many may not like this motel because it is not very fancy, we decided to try this place because of its location. we have stayed at many places on fort myers beach...from expensive to cheap. shipwreck is in the lower price category. however, we were hardly in our room other than to sleep and eat breakfast and lunch, so who really needs fancy? beds were comfortable and the room was clean and cleaned daily and bug free. this place is a few steps to shopping, eats, beach and times square. shipwreck has 2 pools that are heated (not warm enough for us) and outside sitting areas. the rear of the property is on a canal for boaters (we are not) and found it relaxing to sit back there as well. we had a room with a kitchenette and ate breakfast and lunch in the room. they have gas grills for cooking out if you want. there has been some construction recently so their website needs to be updated but the inside room pictures are accurate. all in all, this place met our expectations, however, we had seen the place before so we knew what we were going into. btw...DO NOT USE PARROTT TAXI SERVICE. THEY STIFFED US AT THE AIRPORT.

Great value right across from beach backed on to quite canal room`s clean but basic , All you would expect would go back again .
