Winter vacations in Fort Myers, FL are for the retired, and the Hampton Inn on Summerlin Square could well be "vacation headquarters." My wife at 58 looked to be the youngest person in the place (excusing the help). We stayed five nights in a mini-suite, complete with kitchen and sitting room. We only used it to cook appetizers, but found it adequate. My brother had a similiar suite and had about half the plates and forks 'n' knives that we did. However, he had a flat-screen tv and we didn't. Go figure. One thing about an older crowd, it goes to bed early and as a consequence the hotel is quiet as a church. But there's an early rush for the breakfast buffet, which was well-served, fully stocked, and the menu changed from day to day. The pool was inviting (and hardly used) as was the workout facility. And although the beach is a few miles away, the hotel is but one block walk to the bus stop to catch the 25 cent shuttle bus (if you can produce a Medicare card; otherwise, the cost is 50 cents). We will return. Next time, though, we'll check out room first to make sure it has a new tv and sufficient forks and spoons.
