Still a decent hotel for the price, but it's definitely on the decline. We were there this weekend and stayed in the tower section.

There were ceiling tiles missing throughout, the elevators feel dangerously close to possessed, and there was some mold on the ceiling of our bathroom.

It just needs a lot more TLC than it's getting currently.

Absolutely disgusting hotel, dirty, not up to standard. So much so that although we paid in advance we decided to check into a different hotel. Took a day out of our holiday to sort out new accomodation. what a nightmare.

I have a hearing alert service dog... a Malshi (half Maltese and half Shitz Zu). The clerk demanded that I show documentation even though it is contrary to Florida's Laws concerning service dogs. Even though I did not legally have to, I chose to show the clerk the documentation proving my dog was a hearing alert service dog. She then put us in a room that did not have a functioning air conditioner. It took several complaints to get service. According to Florida's laws, she is guilty of a second degree misdemenanor. I did not press the issue but I did want to warn other travelers. Clarion is not a good place for service dogs and they will prove it.

It needs updating, no doubt, and we witnessed new carpeting being laid. It also needs new paint and other upgrades. However, the room was fine and the mattress was firm/perfect. The tiki bar was super fun (and the beer prices were very good).. As another poster experienced, one night the bar suddenly closed down early and that was a bummer. Sitting in the tiki bar, meeting folks from all over the country and from the area was fun.

Employees were friendly. Housekeeping was awesome. Internet was free, but we got knocked off every ten minutes or so. The pool was very nice.

We would definitely stay here again.
