When I first walked into my room, I thought, super outdated almost kitchy, but nice (even though the decor screamed of a cheap matress and linens). The decor was 80s chic, but it had an unexpected fride and microwave so that scored tons of points and the layout was awesome!
Then, the little things started to kick in that just bug me.
#1. No conidtioner in the bathroom. What the heck!?!
#2. The address and phone number are not even printed on the phones in the room. When one does not travel much this might seem silly to list, but should you start, you will understand. Calling down to the front desk to get the hotel number/address speed read to you by some hourly employee who only cares if there is a fire spreading to their face is super annoying.
#3. No closets and/or hangars. Oh wait! There are! They are hidden behind a door which will be disscussed in point five.
#4. There was a storm today. Not the hotel's fault. However, when it started to drizzle, I called the front desk to ask (the same speed reader btw) if the internet was out because the cable was not working. She said 'no, it's working'. No, it was not. So I went to the lobby to use the computers. Okay, computer. A co-worker was on the only computer that was kind of working. The front desk girl recognized my voice and told me, "The wi-fi on the first floor is working." Awesome, what about the rest of us?
#5. While the co-worker on the computer was trying to figure out what the lobby computer was doing, I brought up the hangar situation thinking it was funny/odd. She told me about the secret door it is hidden behind. Gotchca.
#6. The two remote tv system. I can figure it out (because I was born after 1983), but the image of my grandmother trying to work the tv made me giggle. Seeing as how there was no cable, I guess it would not have mattered anyway. Why is the defualt channel 97 instead of 3? Honesty!
# 7. No tissues in the tissues holder. Petty? A little? Nice to have? Um, yeah!!
All, in all, super cheap on the service. The breakfast is not bad. I think the front desk girl should proably start looking for other jobs as this seemed to annoy her.
As long as the company keeps sending me here, I will have to stay (thankfully there are a ton of restaurants nearby), but I will be requesting a change.
Room Tip: Evidently, get a room on the first floor or hold your computer to the window.
