We selected this hotel based on the large number of positive reviews from Trip Advisor as well as other discount travel sites; also because we were on a tight budget this trip and found their rate to be very reasonable.
We stayed six nights arriving 2/8 (early check-in) and departed 2/14 and are very happy we did. What a nice place; as you drive up (plam lined roads) you first notice the nice landscape around the building and that it is maintained properly, the parking was more than adequate and well lit at night, we found the staff to be exceptional, no matter who you spoke with they were all very pleasant and willing to help however possible.
The rooms are clean and comfortable with independent central HVAC controls as opposed to the old window type built into an outside wall, the views from the rooms we’re nothing special but we choose a room that looked out the back because we did not want the sun load in the morning and the back had views of the palm lined private drive next door instead of a gas station accross from the front entrance drive.
They have a nice clean (fairly spacious) dining room with staff to constantly replenish food/beverage items, clean the food counter/tables and straighten chairs. They were very friendly with a daily greeting, ready to answer any questions you may have and wishing you a good day as you left.
The hot breakfast consisted daily of scrambled eggs, mild sausage patties and the always popular self serve waffles. There was also had two kinds of dry cereal, bread and bagels to toast and either pastries or doughnuts each day. Hot coffee, and juice was available, although three of the 6 days one or both of the juices had an out of order sign posted because the food supplier did not deliver them.
Fresh fruit would be nice but overall the breakfast was fresh, tasty and more than enough; With a complimentary daily local paper, local news on the TV for weather and good hot food it made for a perfect start to our day the entire stay. One day we even got up very early to drive to the Keys and they allowed us to go into the room for breakfast 30 minutes before the normal open time.
Unfortunately it was too cool for us to swim in the pool and the hot tub was not working properly (cold), We did notice that it did not look as though they have a service to provide daily pool care as there were a lot of leaves and other debris on the bottom and floating, but to be very honest we have paid far more for hotel rooms and had the pool condition be worse.
Honestly whatever items we noticed that needed improvement were really minor considering the great rate, exceptional staff & convenient location. Bottom line if you want the Ritz Carleton or Waldorf Astoria and all the amenities those type have then pay to stay there; but if you are looking for a clean comfortable friendly hotel at a super rate you cannot do better than this place; trust me!
