“Needs a serious remodel"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2011

This is an old hotel in need of a serious remodel. The bathroom countertop looked like it had sticky brown coffee on it, when I looked up it was brown water dripping from the vent in the ceiling. Shower curtain had a hole in it, bathtub was chipped, no tissues in tissue holder. When I woke up I flossed my teeth and floss was black. When I looked in the mirror, my tongue was black. I must have slept with my mouth open and breathed in the dirty air from the a/c unit. I took a photo to show my husband who was not with me because it was so unbelieveable. The good thing was that it had a deadbolt on the door.

“seen better days”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2011

Front desk was very helpful. Hot tub has been turned into landscaping. Wireless only works on the first floor. Fitness center is a treadmill, a bike, and an elliptical. Hot breakfast was old biscuits and gravy had good orange juice. Hotel was clean but nothing fancy. For the price we paid I would still stay again

“Would not stay here....service was horrible!”

Would not stay at this hotel again…spend the extra $15 and stay at one of the chain hotels nearby. Checked in right around 3:00 and the gentleman at the front desk was helpful and friendly. That is about the last positive thing I have to say. My husband and I stayed at this hotel as we had a 6 AM flight and had to be up very early. Went I went to go to bed I realized all the pillows in the room were feather. I am extremely allergic to feather pillows and cannot sleep on them. But when I called down to the front desk I was told they had no other option and she was not sure what to tell me to do. She did not know where they kept the other pillows. I asked is there a manger to call and she said not right now (it was only 8:30, so it was not like it was late). Bottom line it was horrible service and not something you would get at many of the other hotels near by.

“Extremely Disappointed!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

Booked room with king-size bed for one night as we had early flight. Upon checkin we were given keys to what turned out be a handicap room. There toilet was leaking water. When I went to shower (at 3:15 in the morning) the bath mat hanging in the shower was soaking wet. It was folded and looked like it was clean but was SOAKING -- DISGUSTING. The water pressure was terrible. Bed was comfortable and room was clean.

“So Pleased with our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

We selected this hotel based on the large number of positive reviews from Trip Advisor as well as other discount travel sites; also because we were on a tight budget this trip and found their rate to be very reasonable.

We stayed six nights arriving 2/8 (early check-in) and departed 2/14 and are very happy we did. What a nice place; as you drive up (plam lined roads) you first notice the nice landscape around the building and that it is maintained properly, the parking was more than adequate and well lit at night, we found the staff to be exceptional, no matter who you spoke with they were all very pleasant and willing to help however possible.

The rooms are clean and comfortable with independent central HVAC controls as opposed to the old window type built into an outside wall, the views from the rooms we’re nothing special but we choose a room that looked out the back because we did not want the sun load in the morning and the back had views of the palm lined private drive next door instead of a gas station accross from the front entrance drive.

They have a nice clean (fairly spacious) dining room with staff to constantly replenish food/beverage items, clean the food counter/tables and straighten chairs. They were very friendly with a daily greeting, ready to answer any questions you may have and wishing you a good day as you left.

The hot breakfast consisted daily of scrambled eggs, mild sausage patties and the always popular self serve waffles. There was also had two kinds of dry cereal, bread and bagels to toast and either pastries or doughnuts each day. Hot coffee, and juice was available, although three of the 6 days one or both of the juices had an out of order sign posted because the food supplier did not deliver them.

Fresh fruit would be nice but overall the breakfast was fresh, tasty and more than enough; With a complimentary daily local paper, local news on the TV for weather and good hot food it made for a perfect start to our day the entire stay. One day we even got up very early to drive to the Keys and they allowed us to go into the room for breakfast 30 minutes before the normal open time.

Unfortunately it was too cool for us to swim in the pool and the hot tub was not working properly (cold), We did notice that it did not look as though they have a service to provide daily pool care as there were a lot of leaves and other debris on the bottom and floating, but to be very honest we have paid far more for hotel rooms and had the pool condition be worse.

Honestly whatever items we noticed that needed improvement were really minor considering the great rate, exceptional staff & convenient location. Bottom line if you want the Ritz Carleton or Waldorf Astoria and all the amenities those type have then pay to stay there; but if you are looking for a clean comfortable friendly hotel at a super rate you cannot do better than this place; trust me!
