“What a way to spend Christmas!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We spent Christmas weekend here and loved every second of it. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Upon arrival (without asking) our room was upgraded to a view of the Harbor. The food was exceptional (pricey yes but well worth it) especially the Courtside Restaurant. There were special meals for the holidays. We were in the pool, hot tub and at the pool bar every day. There was no request too small or too large. We needed a mini fridge and microwave and they were brought to our room (at no charge) quickly. The concierge helped us with reservations and pleasantly answered every question we had. Valet parking was efficient and pleasurable. Having a coffee shop with snacks and ice cream in the lobby was great. We used the store for small forgotten toiletries, medicines, etc. Our favorite time was having brunch on the Yacht. Magnificent food and crew made our Christmas Day special. We tried every restaurant, bar and all of the services (except the Spa – unfortunately). We would definitely return and highly recommend it.

“Sanibel Harbour Marriott and Sanibel Island”

When staying at this hotel note the difference between the Captiva Tower and the Sanibel Tower. The Captiva tower is 5 minutes away from the main hotel - you'll only see the main hotel in resort pictures. There is no food in the captiva building and the grounds and the view are significantly less. It's a five minute walk or they'll send a shuttle to take you to the main hotel. If you want to stay in the Sanibel Tower you'll pay an extra $40-$60 a night. That said the waterfront of the Sanibel Tower is spectacular as is the pool, and the rotunda bar attached to the main hotel. The rooms were the regular Marriott rooms with a balcony. Microwaves and refrigerators are available upon request if available. The beds were not so great. I'd read this before in a review before we went, and it didn't specify if they were talking about captiva or sanibel towers. We were in the Sanibel Tower so if the beds weren't that good there, I don't think they'd be better in the Captiva tower. The breakfast buffet in the morning is $20. It's not a $20 breakfast buffet. No carving station, no waffle station(they say they can make you one), no corned beef hash, no french toast. I'd recommend paying the $6 toll to Sanibel Island and driving to the Over Easy Cafe (an 8 min. drive) at the end of Periwinkle drive. Great Breakfast! The staff at the Sanibel Tower are great. Excellent service by everyone. By the way if you're going to Sanibel for the shells don't expect to find any more than an inch and a half long. 99% are the standard shell or clam looking variety. There are plenty of places to buy exotic shells, which is what you'll have to do if you go there for that reason. A great area for biking and walking. There are bike paths along all main roads and bike rentals. Also nature tours, walks, boating kayaking, etc.

Room Tip: Face the waterfront. Double balcony doors block out noise. No screens on balcony doors. A few fli...

“Beautiful Setting...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

This is a wonderful hotel, just at the foot of the bridge, going to Sanibel, and Captiva.
Really lovely property, great pier, pool area, ..beautiful outdoor setting. Lobby is gorgeous.
Rooms need some updating, as far as furniture is concerned. Great bed, and bedding.

Room Tip: We were in the main tower, with the restaurants. Face the water; we saw dolphins, and pelicans, cra...

“Business trip felt like a leisure trip at this Marriott!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Situated right on the water on Sanibel Island, this Marriott property exceeded my expectations. Although I spend most of my days in the hotel conference rooms, we did have a half day to relax, unwind and enjoy the hotel amenities. The pool is great and the hotel even has their own, private dinner cruise that we chartered the first night. The food aboard the cruise was great and the sunsets were amazing! I would recommend this hotel for business, families or romance and all at a great price point.

“Wonderful weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I had a wonderful weekend at this hotel! The apartments are nice and with an incredible view of the Gulf of Mexico. I used the services of the pool bar (good), the restaurant (great food) and the bar at the left of the lobby, very nice. The staff was very kind, was just hard to find parking space, always full of cars. But it was an unforgettable trip.
