I had a wonderful weekend at this hotel! The apartments are nice and with an incredible view of the Gulf of Mexico. I used the services of the pool bar (good), the restaurant (great food) and the bar at the left of the lobby, very nice. The staff was very kind, was just hard to find parking space, always full of cars. But it was an unforgettable trip.

Three years ago my husband and I stayed here for a friends wedding. It was not a Marriott at the time. We came back for a short stay to find it is now a Marriott. The lobby and indoor common areas are still beautiful and the service was great. The exterior and the rooms, however, could use an update. Our bed was super creaky and the slip guards in the tub were worn away. The concrete on the balcony was crumbling around the support post. The grounds in a lot of areas were eneven as if there has been a lot of settling. All in all though, it is a great hotel. The staff was so nice that when they forgot to call my brother at a certain time (at my request) they gave HIM a gift certificate as an apology!

Absolutely loved my stay here for a conference. I was on the 11th floor overlooking the harbour and the view was fantastic; especially for the sunsets. The staff was extremely helpful and provided exemplary service. Would return without any hesitation.

I took my mother in law here for a treat at the spa for a day We chose the 3 and a half hour treatment pack of a facial, mango scrub and swedish massage. The facial was OK and the mango scrub a wee bit intense for my liking (bit sore as it was quite harsh on the skin) but teh swedish massage totally bombed me out and left me very very relaxed.

The downside to this spa is that there are no really nice places to chill out, i can't believe they dont' have an outside seating area/pool/hot tub but then perhaps i've been spoilt in the past but I did not read up properly so my fault.

My big problem with the spa was that our treatment was supposed to be for 3 and a half hours and after two and a half hours we were finished. The facial didn't even last a full hour (very disappointing) and we had booked transport to pick us up an hour after finishing, so we were left with a lot of time just sat there waiting for transport to come and get us.

We decided to go for a bite to eat in the hotel by the pool up on the verandah (forget the name of the restaurant). The food was fine and it was lovely to sit outside. My main concern on this restaurant is when you look up and see the cobwebs and dirt above you. It would not take long to power shower it down and it could make a big difference to the ambience of the restaurant - it was quite off putting seeing the dirt on the fans above us.

I wouldn't go back to this spa - it was a big let down - mainly because of the facilities there and the fact that the treatment was not as advertised - i.e. 2.5 hours and not 3.5 hours.
