“Nice but not for us”

We had a time share week here so it's not as though it cost us megabucks. The accommodation was spacious comfortable and everything worked. But it was dated and of poor construction. It is also in the middle of nowhere and you have to drive to shop or for a drink or a meal. So although it was ok we wouldn't ho again

“Four Years and Counting....!”

My husband, our 9 yr old daughter and myself have gone to Tropical Sands Resort for four years now and we have always been so glad we went.

Overall, it is a well kept, clean and friendly complex that is just across the road from a beautiful white sandy beach by day and a stunning sunset by night. The condo unit is very spacious and comfortably furnished and the lanaii overlooks the pool area. We get the sun virtually all day on the lanaii so we spend a lot of time there. Although the decor in the unit is a bit dated, it has everything you need, microwave, coffee maker, DVD/CD player, 3 TV's and a washer/dryer. The pool is large, heated and lit at night and the hottub is right beside it. The pool area is nicely furnished with outdoor furniture. There are two BBQ's on either side of the pool which are relatively new. The staff are friendly and keep things fun by having activities by the pool almost every day like Bingo, root beer floats, hotdogs, margaritas etc which are popular. There are lots of other kids there which is great for our daughter to be able to have a playmate.

Everything is close by, beach, shopping, golfing, watersports, mini-putt and there are a ton of wonderful restaurants in the area as well. Nightlife can be had at the Holiday Inn which is a short walking distance away and right on the beach. The trolley stop is just outside the complex and it runs every 10 minutes up and down the Fort Myers Beach strip.

TSR is a not a five star resort, but it is a very comfortable complex that is good value for the money and just steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. We love it there!

“Wonderful vacation spot”

This vacation proved to be the best vacation my family ever had. We arrived at Tropical Sands Resort around 11:00 pm and fetched the key from the after-hours box. Our unit was fresh and clean. We were very pleased with the room sizes and layout. Everything we could possibly need was in our unit. The next morning we had our coffee on the screened in terrace where we planned our fishing trip on a party boat (Getaway Marina). We caught enough fish for two nights' dinner. We loved the swimming pool and greeting Charlie (the resident egret). The office staff were very friendly and helpful as were the folks that were staying at the resort. The beach was a pleasure to walk and to collect seashells. We rode the complimentary bicycles. We dined at several local restaurants including The Fish House (delicious clam chowder). Sunrises were peaceful and soothing. Sunsets were stunning. We loved every minute of our vacation.

“Always a pleasure”

I've been staying at Tropical Sands Resort every February for the past 13 years and it's never been a bad trip. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. They offer many free events to draw a crowd to the pool around noon every day (My favorite being root beer float day). It's just a really nice hotel. If you're looking for something fancy, don't come here. If you're looking for a home away from home well, you've found it.

“A stress-busting vacation!”

Tropical Sands is NOT a hotel. It's a full fledged resort located a short walk from the beach. The beach is exceptional in that it borders on a bird sanctuary. Not too far from the crowds, restaurants, shops and traffic of Ft. Myers Beach, one can enjoy nature in peace at Tropical Sands' beach. The beach offers a number of varieties of shells, and sand dollars are abundant a few yards offshore. All the activities such as parasailing, diving trips and watercraft rentals are available within a mile. The Evergades are no more than an hour from here. I've found the fishing from a nearby bridge to be excellent, but then I'm an ecellent fisherperson ....
I don't give it a poor rating despite the glitch in the webpage that won't allow me to edit my review. I give it 4.5 out of 5.
