We stayed here for the beach location. It is a charming 50s era motel. Of course, it is priced for what you get on the beach with the Westin and other pricey resorts nearby. I would not say it is as bad as other reviewers write. However, the gallery pictures on the hotel website do not represent many of the rooms in this motel. We upgraded to an efficiency based on the pictures. I felt a bait and switch. We got a 3rd floor room with a kitchen as old as your grandma. And they could use a few ant traps. The white tiles in the room are beat up. The room was clean.
The bed was very comfortable and looks relatively new as was other room furnishings. The good news is that it looks like the motel is being updated. The public restrooms near the bar look nearly new. And there is evidence that rooms are being updated according to the web pics. But they are on the 1st and 2nd floor and close to the office. Not sure the pace of renovations, but I recommend to talk directly with the staff and ask for the newer rooms for the best experience.
