My partner and I visited Ft Lauderdale over the Christmas break. We chose the Elysium because the owners were willing to accommodate us for a stay that didn't have a minimum number of nights, which was not typical of other guest houses. We had a nice visit to the Elysium. The room was simple, but clean. The pools were heated and the hot tub was large. The grounds were well-kept, and the staff was very friendly, as were most of the guests. The location was close to the beach. The only real downside for us was the age of many guests. I'm 38 and my partner is 35, and while we certainly expected that we would be on the younger end of the spectrum, we found that the typical guest was late 40s to early 50s. This didnt detract from the enjoyment of our vacation, but we have stayed at other guest houses in different cities that have a broader age range of guests. Of course, this clearly could have been coincidental, but other travelers considering where they will stay should simple be aware of the possibility.
