I stayed here for 5 days for a business trip while in Fort Lauderdale. This is my second time to the hotel within 6 months and it was another good experience. The staff was very helpful when I checked in, the bellman quick to assist me with my bags and my check in was smooth.

My room was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping was efficient and restocked the amenities.

My room faced the lagoon and the expressway, so there was some noise from the highway but it wasn't too bad.

There is a charge for parking in a residential area. I realize that there is an office building so they may get some overflow traffic, but paying to park in a residential area is annoying. The other frustration is paying for internet. $12.95/day for 5 days? It's easy money (like the parking) and standard for full service hotels, but management should take a good look at those practices.

A group going on a cruise stayed on night, so it was a bit chaotic in the bar and restaurant area. Service at the bar is hit or miss; the limited bar menu can be disappointing, so be sure to ask for the one from the main restaurant.

Over all, this is a nice, clean hotel.

I am literally sitting in my room at the Westin Ft. Lauderdale as I write this. To preface this review, I love Westin hotels. I have stayed in many, and am always happy with them. The beds are amazing and their white tea bath products are my favorite.

Tonight, as I checked in, I was told that my king room was no longer available so I was given a double room. Fine. As I walked into my room, everything looked askew. The beds were made, but not in that super-tight way; the door that adjoins to the next room looked slightly ajar (slightly terrifying); and the 2 bottles of water that are usually left in the room were missing. All that remained was the 2 little signs that normally attach to the bottle of water that say "Drink us." Again, fine. I think, I'll just take a water from the mini-bar. And it's locked.

So I call downstairs and am told that I need a key to access the mini bar, but they are no longer giving those out. Ok? So I politely tell them that I would like 2 bottles of water brought to my room. They did arrive a few minutes later.

As I attempted to shower a little bit after that, i was enraged by the fact that I couldn't turn off the tub while the overhead shower was on. So I was showering in 5 inches of water at the bottom of the tub. Oh, and I slipped on the very slippery floor and nearly broke my back.

All of this, and HERE is what bothers me most:

There are no outlets in this whole freaking room! I am traveling for work. I would like to have an outlet for my laptop, my cell phone, and my kindle. And nada!

There is a 10-foot-long desk, and literally no plugs.

WTF.

That is all. I cannot wait to check out.

We staying here for one night prior to catching a cruise in Ft. Lauderdale. While there is not a lot to walk to from the hotel, it is a very pleasant hotel and the rooms were very comfortable. The service was also excellent. Since we did not have a car, we ate at the hotel restaurant and it was also good. This is part of the Starwood Group, so we also got points. I would stay here again for either pre or post cruise accommodations and felt it was a good choice.

On the day we arrived, there was a beautiful wedding taking place out by the pool and then into the ballroom. The staff appeared to be very accommodating to the entire party. The beds and pillows were like clouds. In our pre-cruise party of about 35, everyone loved the beds and cleanliness of the hotel. Will consider staying there again. Only downside, is a bit out of the way for the cruise port but the accommodations definitely made up for that. Got a 4-star deal on Hotwire for $78!!
