I must say the service checking in was excellent. People very friendly, from valet to bell staff to servers. The hotel is very convenient to the Convention Center and Port Everglades. Outstanding views from the higher floors. I noticed there are rooms in lower buildings and don't know what these look like.
The rooms, however, had a few glitches worth mentioning. It is an older property with renovated rooms, but you can still see the older doors in the closets and bathrooms, with some rust and mildew stains. A/C was a bit noisy. One thing that bothered me was there were no lights at bedside, so you couldn't read in bed if you wanted to. The room chairs were not comfortable at all if you just wanted to relax for a few moments. To top it off, the rooms were also a bit on the small side.
Other than that, enjoyed the food, service and location.

I was attending a convention, and booked this hotel. The smell of mildew was overwelming. I had to change rooms twice due to the smell and becuase the rooms were not clean. Hair everywhere from the shower curtin to the floor by the TV. Handle was broken on the sliding glass door. Did not feel safe at all. Ants all over the bathroom. Staff was friendly, and the food was good at the outside bar. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Have stated here many times with my company. While certainly not the worst place I have stayed, the rooms never seem to be well cleaned. Last night my room had pubic hair on the bathroom floor and water rings from glasses all over the bathroom counter. The tv dresser was also filthy. The toilet looked clean and the sheets seemed clean. Whew. Not exactly what you would expect from a Hilton. Service eating in the bar area was non-existant. Food was cold, almost self-service. :-)

We were booked on the Allure of the Seas on November 27, 2011. Our pre departure stay was at the Hilton Marina in Ft. Lauderdale and this property far exceeded our expectations. Rooms were nice and so were the restaraunts.
Beware of the ceiling mounted shower heads. They can surprise you when you expect the water to come from the wall as a normal shower would.
