I stayed at Days Inn the night of January 21, 2012 and was only there for the night and left on a cruise for Sunday January 22nd. The room was fine, the breakfast they served was a waste of time and questionable. All it was, was hard boiled eggs, cereal, and some bread/pastries. There wasn't even enough seating to sit to eat. I felt like I was at a ghetto old person's home breakfast. In the morning we checked out we left on the shuttle to go on a cruise. Their shuttle service wasn't very organized however that could have been the drivers themselves and not the hotel. But heads up if you are leaving for a cruise and taking the shuttle, you'll be waiting for a long time! They say the shuttle service starts at 12pm however, it really depends on which cruise line you will be on. We saw so many people take a cab/taxi instead of waiting because there is no guarantee that you will get on the shuttle because they weren't going to be boarding the boat on time due to waiting. After I checked out of my room, I ended up leaving some expensive articles of clothing in my room during my rush to check out and catch the shuttle (which I waited for about 2 hours). By the time I realized those items were left on the bed, about 5 hours had pasted. No big deal right? Wrong! I called (the same day I checked out about 8 hours after I checked out) and the front desk agent told me to talk to housekeeping (which they didnt' answer the line when transferred to their ext.) I called probably 4 times and asked the front desk agent to do his job and talk to housekeeping for me or to walk up to where lost and found was to track down my clothes. I gave him all the information the discription/brand of the clothing and how to get a hold of me while I was away. I even asked him to leave me a message when he tracked down those items and I would contact him when I returned to fort lauderdale in a week. 2 days later, nothing. I continued to call (from the cruise ship where roaming is expensive) and got no where. Front desk kept redirecting me to housekeeping and I could never get through. A couple times the front desk agent even said he would call me back and let me know the status (that call was never made and I didn't even get a voicemail or response to the general email on the website which again was sent the same day I checked out). I called a week later and again, the front desk agent refused to go look in the lost in found and told me to talk to housekeeping. This was very frustrating so I stopped off at the hotel before my flight to check the lost in found myself. Well, they don't let you go through it, only housekeeping can go through lost and found. So I explained the situation again and he called housekeeping and mentioned that they keep all items found in the room for 30 days however, nothing was found the night or the next day from my room, and he left it as that. Then he told me to have a good day. Seriously?! I was so upset and explained to him that the pants alone are $120 and all I got was and how I called almost everyday since my check out date, and his response, "sorry, you must have left them somewhere else or misplaced them because they aren't here". I'm pretty sure housekeeping saw the brand and the style of pants (which were limited editions so you can't buy them anymore) and decided to keep all the clothes I left. Don't bother staying here and spent the few extra dollars to stay somewhere else. Unless, you want a ghetto breakfast, bad service, and housekeeping claiming you didn't leave anything in the room and convince you that it was all in your mind that you left anything in the room.
