I guess our biggest complaint would be with the housekeeping staff. There was only one roll of toilet paper in our room. We are a family of four with two teenagers. We were in Ft. Lauderdale for a family member's funeral. There were only to very small bath towels in the room. When we asked for more they gave my husband one. I went back to explain that we needed at least two more or preferably four. They refused and told me they would give us towels later. No matter how much I begged and negotiated they refused to give more towels. There was also only one trash basket for both the room and the bathroom. There was a tiny shampoo but make sure you bring your own conditioner. This was the first time I didn't bring my own shampoo and conditioner because of flight regulations. The plumbing was also not great. the tub filled up when you showered and the toilet got stuffed. When we called for maintenance, they never showed up. My husband had to finally go to the desk and ask for a plunger. By our third day there, I went to the desk to tell them about our towel experience. Then we finally got our towels. The best thing about this place is the view. Other than that, you are better off with another place to stay.

Forget what people say about this hotel - for the price its worth it. So it has a few problems so what so do all the hotels in Cuba and Mexico. Cross the street and you have a little mall - keep walking and you will hit shops and fun bars and bistros with great nightlife. Open the front door and walk exactly 28 feet and you hit the beach. I checked all the neigbor hotels are more expensive and for what - you spend most of your time outside anyway. So its an average hotel but I spent a lot of time disco dancing on the beach with the seagulls and reading by the pool. The staff is amazing and helpful and if something goes wrong they will accommodate you with something else. I enjoyed my stay - so its not the Bellagio in Vegas but the Bellagio has no amazing Ocean like the Lauderdale Beachside Hotel has.

OK so this isnt a 5 star hotel, but perfect for a quick stay. The front desk staff, Andrew and Porsha, were absolutely wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. We only stayed for one night for a quick getaway but found it great for the price. Our room was old but clean. Pool chairs had nice thick pads. They have 2 buildings. We stayed at the building across the street from beach and will probably stay in the one on the beach next time. Beach is beautiful and chair rentals are cheap...$5 for chair $2 extra for thick cushion to go on chair.

Looks like they are going through renovations...webside says new management had taken over.

They hv free continental breakfast in morning. Lots of restaurants and a small strip mall within walking distance.

I know you get what you pay for...and have stayed at many 5 star hotels across the world...but for the price, this is a good value...the staff makes it worth it.

We just had a very large group stay at this hotel, as we have in past years. The hotel is always terrible but this year it reached new lows. Just some of the lovely experiences:

- plugged toilet (took 6 calls to get it cleared)
- no toilet paper and never replenished by housekeeping; had to go to reception to get every single time
- roaches in the rooms
- one person had mouse feces in her sink
- garbage wasn't emptied by housekeeping
- mold on shower curtains
- general filth, especially in bathrooms
- garbage left in room from prior guests
- awful bedding and no blankets on beds (just gross flammable bedspreads from 1972)
- bar closed Saturday night because the bartender was cold (great when you have a large group gathering to party for a few days)

I could go on and on. The clincher was the "HAZARDOUS" sign that got posted on our date of departure. Classic.

Never, ever, ever consider this a place to stay. I have my luggage on the patio getting chilled to below freezing in the hopes that any critter or possible eggs from any will be killed and not be tracked into my home.

I am itchy and disgusted. Worst place I've ever stayed - and I've been all over the globe.
