Upon arriving at 11:00 a.m. to get a room, was advised that check in time wasn't until 3:00. They offered to take our luggage behind the desk, and we told them we would go eat lunch and buy a couple of souvenirs, and come back. Arriving back at 1;30 p.m. was told our room still wasn't ready, I asked if they were working on it yet, and the staff told me they wouldn't be ready until 3:00, and I said, I know, but you know we are here, can they get to working on it now, and the gal said, they won';t be ready until 3:00, so, took up a seat in the lobby and finally at 2:55, the lady said our room was ready. After waking up at 2:00 a.m. as the bed was bothering my wife's back, so nobody was sleeping at this point, I got up to go to the bathroom, and noticed 3 cockroaches scurrying around on the walls and floor. At this point it was lights on in the bedroom, a quick bedbug check, and moved all the clothing, and toiletries out of the bathroom, and stacked stuff on top of luggage. The pergo flooring is uneven and coming apart, the door is coming off the hinges, and has to be lifted to shut, and the room vent is very dirty, so you get a general idea of the room. Anywhere I pay a hundred bucks a room usually gets a clean and decent nights stay with pretty good service, however, not at this place. Next trip to a new area, I suggest check the reviews before booking a place in a new area. Don't stay here.

My sister and I booked this hotel for a birthday getaway trip in February 2012. It took 30 seconds to realize we should have heeded all those bad reviews of this place. It is a poor excuse for a hotel and is certainly no resort. It is filthy, nothing works and the staff turn a blind eye to any complaints or concerns you may have. I have too many disgusting things to say about this place, so I will say this---do not stay here unless you pitch a tent by the tiki bar-it was the only nice thing about this dive.

Of al the hotels I have stayed at over the last 30 years, I can honestly say that the Ocean Manor is amongst the bottom five (this from a guy who once stayed in a room in Louisville that had been a homicide scenel). After being greeted by the unfriendly front desk personnel, we proceeded to our room on the third floor. There, we observed that the door had been poorly repaired (apparently several times given the notches, scars, etc. thereon). Obviously, it did not close properly. The floating floor featured relpaced portions that did not match the original color or pattern. The TV did not shut off forcing us to pull the plug after viewing. The shower head would not stay in place and sprayed only on to the taps that were loose. Hot water? Depends on one's deinition of hot. The linen was gray and featured hairs from former guests. The finish from the tub was half gone. Need to be somewhere? Bring an alarm as, at least the room we were assigned, did not feature a clock - much less a clockradio. This hotel is a terrible building in an otherwise excellent neighborhood. The view and beach are not worth the trouble. Stay away!

I cannot express fully the disappointment in the room we had on our recent visit to this hotel even after we received an upgrade. The bathroom had something black (Mold?) around the tub. Did not shower until we left the 'resort'. The sink had been painted and the former color, pink, was wearing through. The bed swagged in the middle ( not at all comfortable). Wore socks or shoes the whole time; not sure when it was last cleaned properly; there was paper on the floor for former guest(s). Afraid to look under the bed for fear of what we might find. The "heated" pool was anything but heated; maybe the sun heated the pool!?? All in all, you get what you pay for. We only stayed one night and got out of there. The elevators did not always work. Sorry we did not take photos.
