I have stayed there on numerous occasions over the last few years by myself and with my family. I think this place is a great place to stay if you want something clean and simple in a perfect location. Its close to everything; numerous restaurants, shopping, bars, watersports, water taxis, the port if your taking a cruise, the convention center, las olas blvd, and its right across from the beach!! Everything seemed to be within walking distance or a short taxi ride (you may not even need a car depending on the purpose of your trip).
The rooms are very clean, which is a must for me and my family. In fact, one of my favorite rooms is the beautiful oceanfront rooms (like 201 or 301). These rooms offer fantastic ocean and beach views, are spacious, have a kitchen and are well decorated.
I think all the rooms have tiled floors by the way, which is great if you don't like smelly, dirty carpets. The parking is included and covered. The service is usually pleasant and courteous. Oh, and I have to mention the big picnic table on the large second floor balcony that is always available. I have spent many hours taking in the exceptional views of the beach here; ideal for having a drink, a meal or for just people-watching.
But the best part is, the clean rooms are very affordable, which is hard to find on Fort Lauderdale Beach with all the new, extravagant beachfront hotels (like the Marriot, Westin, the Regis, and the Hilton among others). Just don't expect room service or a swimming pool (who needs it anyhow with the beautiful beach right there!!).
The clientele is a nice mix, mostly tourists from all over the world and the states, some professionals, and many families and couples. Now, they even offer free wireless internet access in all the rooms!! Oh and by the way, you can have a phone in your room, you just have to ask and leave a phone deposit.
So, I highly recommend this small, quaint, old fashioned find. It is in a quiet, SUPERB, and SAFE LOCATION offering stunning views and pleasant clientele near hotels like the Marriot and others, but it is still VERY CLEAN and AFFORDABLE.

Awesome location - right across the road from the beach, within easy walking distance to many shopping and restaurant attractions, even the water taxi service. Neighborhood surrounding this hotel is very wealthy - very expensive properties and hotels adjacent and on adjoining blocks. Only 3 beachview rooms - all other rooms either face a wall or the condo next door. No pool, parking is limited and horrible if you have a large SUV (i.e. Suburban). Second floor has a small area facing the beach with a large picnic table so you can enjoy the beach view and/or the street action. We had several rooms that were large with a kitchenette. Floors are tile and not very clean (check your feet bottoms!) Beds were quite hard, linens old but clean. Bath linens were old and thin, but clean then dried on clotheslines outside of hotel. Wonderful restaurant right next to hotel. Very European hostel-type atmosphere!

Stayed 2 nights here in May 2007 n our way back north from Key West. Here's the Good - Bad - Ugly:
The Good: Very good value for the area. Within easy walking distance to the main strip, it's just on the north edge. The room was clean and quite large.
The Bad: No pool on ht eproperty, but it's right on the beach.
The Ugly: None. I'd use this motel in the future. It's not top-of- the line, but very good for the price.
