“Convenient Location-Average-but clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We booked this place based on location and price after reading the reviews. The place is perfectly located and off the main street of traffic. Yes, it is old and could use some modernizing. The room was clean and had the basic necessities. The pool area was nice-however, with the high rise condos on two sides-the amouont of sun is quite limited. There was plenty of closet space, utensils, etc. No hair dryer or iron. The lobby has an iron. If you are looking for luxury-stay somewhere else; if you want convenience affordably-this place works!

Room Tip: We stayed in a poolside suite. Sable resorts owns this and three others adjoining it.

“We won't go back”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We needed a place with more than one bedroom and with a kitchen, which limits hotel/motel options. But this place had several shortcomings that would prevent us from returning: (a) it was really run down: much of the furniture seemed second hand (mismatching pieces, scratches everywhere) and some rooms looked as if they hadn't been painted in years; (b) the kitchen was poorly equipped (e.g., one cereal bowl, the oven didn't work); (c) the wifi signal was so weak in the rooms that guests congregated outside, near the laundry room (because the folklore said the signal was strongest there); and (d) the rooms were unheated, which made for chilly nights during a cold snap. Not all was bad: the location is good, close to the beach and beachfront restaurants and retails. And the pool was clean and convenient to the units.

“Comfy and homey, across street from beach”

Just like home, maybe a little better... I loved our room!!! We had a 1 bedroom apartment with a king size bed. The living room was suitable for entertaining guests, and the fully stocked (utensils, plates, pots and pans) kitchen had a full-sized fridge and stove, and a microwave and coffee maker.

“Fantastic "Old Florida" charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 April 2011

person found this review helpful

This was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable stays I have had in Florida. Check in was fast and I was escorted through a gated wall into a charming courtyard of single motel rooms surrounding a beautiful, blue swimming pool. The employees from the front desk to housekeeping were extremely courteous and helpful. I couldn't believe we were only one short block from A1A and the beach and that there were so many impersonal and behemoth Hotels all around us. The price was right, the room was clean and functional in every way. I can't wait to book Sandy Shores Motel again for the Fall...Thank you Heidi, Mary, Emilia and the entire staff.
