“Labor Day Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed here on a previous Labor Day Weekend. I thought the hotel was very nice, the pool was warm, staff was courteous and helpful. If you can, order off the kids menu, the usual good eats were adult sized and kid priced for the Ritz. I have stayed at other Ritz hotels and am always satisfied with their luxurious accommodations. I would recommend. Only drawback to some would be the skybridge to the beach itself, but that seems to be for every hotel as the beach is across the street in Ft. Lauderdale.

“Impeccable service, fabulous food, love, love..... :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This was our second time staying at this Ritz Carlton. We loved it the first time and hoped to feel the same the second time. We were not disappointed. We had amazing service. We sat by the pool where we were sprayed with aloe if we desired, an attendant cleaned my sun glasses, (hello, I am getting spoiled lol) and the food and drinks in the pool area were beyond the average poolside fare. We had an ocean front room and it overlooked the pool and the beach...perfect in every way. We had breakfast on the balcony one morning and it was wonderful. Friendly staff from check in to room attendants....We will definitely be returning to the Ritz Ft. Lauderdale.

Room Tip: I definitely would go for the ocean front rooms....

“Urban Ritz with a beach view”

The Ritz is across the street from the beach like most hotels in Ft Lauderdale. Rooms and common areas are all well decorated and clean. Bed sheets and bath towels here are world class. The pool deck bar provides excellent service, food and views. Here's what I didn't like: beach access is bothersome, the walls between rooms allow too much noise to penetrate and $15 for a good Kentucky Bourbon is silly.

“Wanted to love it!”

Our family of 4 had a large, very nice intracoastal view suite for a 5 night stay in late December. The hotel is very pretty and well situated near the beach with excellent beach service. However, we were quite surprised by a number of issues that seemed sub-par for a Ritz Carlton: (1) there was only one person at the front desk for check-in and check-out, and a line formed; (2) our bedroom telephone repeatedly malfunctioned during our stay. Maintenance did respond to our calls promptly, but we finally stopped calling for them; (3) Housekeeping did not replenish bathroom supplies properly. They knew we had 4 people in our suite, and we had to ask for extra towels and shampoo daily! We had even told central housekeeping on our first day that we would need this! (4) Our shower head was poor [we didn't complain]; (5) The fitness room was not what I would expect from a Ritz. There were only 3 treadmills, and for 2 days, one of them was broken!

On the plus side, access to the 8th floor Club Lounge was FANTASTIC! The staff there are absolutely wonderful, and we enjoyed the food and ambiance there a lot. This was a perk that came with our room, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am not one who looks for faults in a hotel, but I was a little surprised by our experience at this Ritz Carlton.

Room Tip: Intracoastal room are nice, but get as high a floor as possible and as far north as possible.

“Great Service and Location, Very Friendly Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I attended a two day conference at the hotel in January 2012. This was my second stay, and have been very happy with the service and quality that the Ritz exemplifies on both trips. Rooms are spacious, and have great views of either the beach or of downtown Ft. Lauderdale. The staff is very friendly, the beach is very easy to access through the bridge, and the pool is another great option for relaxing. I highly recommend this hotel.
