We had 3 nights here before a cruise and this was a good choice and good value too. We didn't have a car and instead had a $100 taxi from MIA, but we didn't need transport in FL due to the handy location.
The OG is a modern refurbished, but small hotel, at the quieter end of FL. (about 1.5 miles north from Las Olas bvd).
Rooms were modern, clean and crisp, with good quality comfortable beds and good bathroom. Its only on 2 levels which was easy with luggage. Rooms have coffee maker, safe & microwave. Flat screen TV. A nice decent sized pool with a few sun beds, although we just walked the 200 yards down to the beach.
Staff are very attentive and this and other hotels in the Group are working together and expanding their empire in the area. Their plans cover shop and some sort of eatery in the immediate vicinity we gather. Maggie Martino, the General manager and her very efficient ladies on reception (in January, a desk in the corner of the pool deck) work their shifts efficiently and together, with only a couple of short periods when there was no reception cover. Still it promoted the small and friendly feel and their other hotels in the North Beach Village Group were a short walk away.
Location was quiet but that was a bonus for us. Nearest bars and restaurants were around 10-15 mins. Couple of happy hours locally also. The busier end of FL beach with wider choice of bars and eateries at the bottom of Las Olas, was a good 20 mins walk. Or $3 on the eco taxi. The Galleria Mall was a 20 minute walk.
The efficient eco-taxis run around the area for $3 per person. The Port is a $20 ride away (have your passports open and ready for the port entrance).
All in all, this was a good choice and we had a happy three days not least because of the great staff and service.
