My husband, 14 month old son and myself stayed here the night of Jan 18th. Checking in the manager offered a larger room because we were traveling with a child and he could not provide a crib. For no extra charge he gave us the London room instead of Paris... The king bed was a 4" pillow top, so soft and comfortable.
The room was due for a reno. You can only paint over the plaster so many times before making it look cheap. Floors were dirty, my feet were black from walking on them. The curtains were coming out of the wall. The electrical/cable cords where running to oddly placed plug ins.

But the place could be full of character and charm if some one were to put some love into it.

So in the end. a great sleep if you can handle the disaster the bed is inclosed in.

Room was fully prepaid, Manny (owner) changed my initial booking from the Venice room to the Hawaiian room: downstairs, next to the parking lot and facing the walkway to the entrance hence I could not open my white drapes which were closed using pins (yes!). The bathroom had rusted metal framed windows, as if from a 3rd world country. Hair was on the bathroom floor and towels had holes. I stayed 2 nights, and the bet was not made, no housekeeping! The bedroom floor was gritty. I used my beach towel on top of the sheets. The power plugs were overloaded and could be a safety hazard. The only redeeming this was the shower: it worked and it was hot.

Room was disgusting. Didn't even look like it had been cleaned. Wiped entire bathroom down because toilet seat was brown with filth. Hairs in bedding. Dust everywhere. Wouldn't walk on floor without shoes. White curtains offer no light blockage. Hair dryer was 50 years old and sparked. Almost caught my hair on fire. No parking. I WOULD RATHER SLEEP IN MY CAR THAN STAY HERE. Could be cute if completely renovated and hired cleaning service and new management.

We just returned from a weekend at Gigi's and found that while it is vintage, it is still a clean and comfortable place to stay. We were in the Paris room, which had a nice firm bed, leather sofa, flat screen tv with cable, refrigerator and microwave, hot tub/shower, wood floors, AC and quiet neighbors. Not only did we save nearly 75% over our friends at the Ritz just down the street, our gracious host provided free parking, free coffee, free internet and free breakfast, plus a discount at neighboring Casablanca Restaurant. If the weather held out, we were going to take advantage of the free boogie boards and beach lounges also available to us for staying there. We will be back next time with a few friends.
