Not quite a 'resort', but a very high end look and feel and professional staff.
~ The grounds are well planted and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are $200 plus. Our room was modern, classy and clean and we looked at several friends' rooms which were equally nice.
~ We'd requested a quiet room (in the spa courtyard), since we thought it might be too noisey in the area where all the rooms face the pool. It was pretty quiet except for one night from guys in the hot tub....
~ The continental breakfast is good with a juices, coffee and tea (decaf upon request), a variety of cereals, apples and bananas, muffins, bagels and yogurt. They place soft music in the morning (thank goodness!) and during the day a variety of music, again at a reasonable volume. (as opposed to non-stop 9 am-9pm loud disco by the pools in some other gay resorts...)
~ The whole place is well kept and we thought worth the money. There are many gay places in Ft Lauderdale that are much cheaper, but some of them allow 'day passes' and get a few unsavory day trippers.......
~ My only complaint is the beds and noise from the A/C. The beds are VERY FIRM. I’m a side sleeper and so is my partner. The place was quiet and the sound from the A/C was pretty loud (at least to me....) We didn’t sleep very well during our stay. Others we met there also thought the beds were firm too, but said that didn’t mind them and slept well.
~ Worth the extra bucks for the deco, grounds, free wifi, sleek furniture and welcoming, friendly service from the staff. (I’d give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the hard beds....)
