“Sadly... Sorry to See it go”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

With my Partner, we have been coming to VV for years.... (that's Like 9!) Several times each year...

We have seen management change from time to time; although still change is good.

Love the improvements, so, south beach...

Customer service is less than adequate.... - I am sorry to write a review on a place that I thought was less than "Golden" . If this is the way of the future, The Guest houses of FLL will be gone shortly... and there is so much promise to an "era gone by"... Gay may be something... - it's a shame & a pleasure to know it existed.....

“A nice surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2011

My husband stayed here in May for 2 nights. We were Ft. Lauderdale novices and walked into this trip mostly blind. We were pleasantly surprised to find VV to be really clean, nicely (and contemporarily) decorated, just secluded enough but close to the beach. Scott was a sweetheart and the brief tour he gave us was also a nice surprise, as opposed to the usual, "Here's yer key." Breakfast was usually well-stocked, maybe a little unpredictable as the first day was a baked French Toast and the next was a defrosted coffee cake. Condoms and towels at the bedside were a cute touch, albeit unnecessary for boring marrieds like ourselves. The crowd was mostly middle aged and pleasant, kept to themselves, but more than a little STAREY. I guess this is to be expected. Poor young Dutch couple staying there were the belles of the ball. We stayed in a pool-view room on the first floor - - would stay on 2nd or 3rd floor next time. Also, watch out for the vending machine beer, nice touch but ours was 1.5 years expired! All in all, a really nice experience for not a ton of $$.

“A Good Basic Mens Resort”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2011

Our stay here was not planned far in advance, just 2 weeks before, because my partner was trying to surprise me last minute for my bday. One of the only mens resorts that had availability for the weekend stay. This was our first stay here and it was just ok. Not a good check in experience with Cesaer. Everything was prepaid so we were handed the keys and were not shown around the place or what the amenities were. We discover on our own they have WIFI! Absolutely no information was given to us upon arrival! When making the reservationon by phone, Scott was more than accomodating and very pleasant. My partner had made special arrangements for a birthday cake to be delivered for a surprise but that didn't seem to fit into Cesaer's schedule. He blew the surprise by asking me for a cell # so the delivery could be made because he had to leave! The room was nice and I loved having a complete kitchen and a very nice bathroom. After walking around in the room, I noticed my bare feet were black with dirt from the tile floor! It could use a serious scubbing. Went to buy flip flops after that! There was no music around the pool as the website claims. The breakfast, when we were there the first day, had one warm, fresh baked item sitting out in the cafe. Mostly just fruit and cereal with yogurt, juice and coffee. Nothing warm the second day. Was expecting more with the full kitchen that was boasted on the website. Met some nice people while staying there. This would be a nicer place with a little more attention to detail.

“Great Gay Guest House in Ft. Lauderdale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 March 2011

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Villa Venice Men's Resort in Ft. Lauderdale. The staff (especially Scott) was outstanding. The hotel was spotless and close (walking distance) to the gay beach (Sebastien Street at Atlantic Ave). It only has 20 rooms which were very quiet. The jacuzzi and pool were great. We enjoyed being close (10 minute drive) to the gay bars in the Wilton area. It was only a 30 minute drive to Miami (and the gay nude beach north of there). I would love to go back to the Villa Venice next year. March is a great time. Weather was perfect (mid-70's) and the water temp was about the same. So many hunks! And it's close to the Galleria (a great mall)!
