“"Great view, great company, great time"”

Stayed two times..once with husband and second time with our son and his girlfriend. Both times our view was the intercoastal..really enjoyed the boat traffic and night lights. Rooms were immaculate and staff accommodating. Helpful concierge planned perfect days for us! Lots to do..deep water fishing, water taxi, Broward theatre, beach, shopping in the Las Alamos area, viewing the historical Stranahan House. We are not much for night life, but was neat to walk and check it out! We ended up getting a New York style pizza, making a relish tray and enjoying a wonderful glass of wine from our balcony...the best view in the city! Also loved the amenities of our two bedroom suite..everything you need, washer, dryer and even a wine opener. If you do forget something, CVS steps away from the elevator has it. Don't miss the ocean view from the 19th floor! Also, hotel provides beach chairs and umbrellas for nominal fee...and fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. We definitely plan on returning.

“Had a lot of fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

had a wonderful stay for a week at the Beach Place tower. Rooms were clean. Staff was great! Pools were perfect. Just be prepared for the parking garage and elevators. Elevators were not as bad as other posts said!

Room Tip: Get beachside if you are a morning person the sunrise is fantastic.

“Nice accomodations but not for the older crowd.”

We booked this place for a one night stay before taking a cruise. I had a free night with Marriott and I chose the Beach Place Towers because of their proximity to the cruise ship terminal in Ft Lauderdale. As usual, the facilities were great. Room was clean, beds were comfortable and the staff and service were top notch and the view from the room was wonderful. The problem we had was we couldn't find the place! You had to enter the parking garage around the back of the building and then drive up 4 floors to park then take an elevator to the lobby! Just getting to the elevators was a hassle because you need a key to access them and we got there after 6 so you needed a key to get in - luckily someone held the door for us. I was so frustrated at trying to find the place and get to the lobby it took a while to settle down. We got there in the early evening but it was dark by then. We decided to go out for dinner and walked up and down the street across from the beach trying to find a place to eat that was inexpensive - no such luck. Add to that the fact that most places had blaring music which is a problem because my husband has a hearing problem and the music really bothers him. The prices for dinners were not high but not inexpensive, either. We ended up ordering a pizza and got some sodas and went back to the room to eat. I feel this place is geared toward families with children or young adults looking for fun and sun on the beach with some heavy nighlife partying thrown in. (Not sure some folks would want to bring their children here either.) This isn't the type of venue I usually associate with Marriott Vacation Club accomodations. It just wouldn't be something that I'd be interested in staying for a week. I'm really glad we stayed here because now I know not to trade my week for a week here because it's not the atmosphere that I would be comfortable in.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side have a view - or ask for a room with a view.

“Family choice in Ft. Lauderdale”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

Marriott's Beach Place Towers is a great family choice. The location is perfect not just for the beach, but the proximity to downtown Ft. Lauderdale and the fun boutiques and restaurants on Las Olas Blvd. As long as you're prepared for the two bigger challenges - the elevators that are overcrowded during peak hours and the length of time it takes to climb the parking garage - then everything else is easy. There are convenient shops and decent restaurants within a block or two, which means you don't need your car very often.

The Marriott staff were very friendly, and the villas and common areas are modern and well-kept. Great choice for a hassle free family trip to the beach in a more densely populated area than say Destin, FL or Treasure Island, FL.
