Awful, very poor motel. Totally different compared to information in internet.
Lazy and tired (to life?) person in reception, always face upside down.

Room was crappy. Warm water available, only thing to be happy.

Free parking in front of the mote was only positive thing.

We stayed at this hotel for a convention nearby. When we first arrived the room was clean and neat. After several days we had to find a maid to get fresh towels everyday and they never made up the bed. My main concern was that the bathroom was clean, which it was. The pool is nice and out of the way and the walk to the beach was short and convenient. It is an old place so you can't look too hard at the construction but it was okay. I would not stay at this hotel again.

We were in Ft Lauderdale for a family reunion. The hotel staff was excellent. Our room was
spacious, very clean. We loved having the kitchen so we could make coffee etc. The hotel
was very accomodating in allowing us to utilize the outdoor patios for our get together.
The beach and shopping/restaurants were all within easy walking distance.
We will recommend this hotel to everyone we know.

My reservation was for the Shell, so when we checked in, I was a little let down to hear the Shell didn’t have the room I requested & we were to stay at the Martindale. It seems the Shell only has double beds, & my request was for Queen / King Bed, which the Martindale has, so from this perspective, the Resorts were trying to oblige with my request.

The Martindale is part of the same chain the Shell is – Sable Resorts - & is just next door to the Shell.

The Martindale didn’t seem to be as nice as the Shell … from the pictures. Btw, the ‘professional’ photos shown for this hotel on this website in NO WAY represent the resort. Perhaps it did 20 years ago?? The ‘traveller’ photos are a truer reflection.

The room we stayed in, & the motel itself is dated … however, the rooms are clean, & the staff are pleasant & responsive. The motel is in a lovely location - minutes’ walk to the legendary beach, & less than 10 minutes leisurely walk to restaurants & tourist shops.

I’m not sure that I would stay at the motel again, though I would recommend it for budget travellers looking for a well located place to lodge with lovely staff!
