“A high end motel”

This hotel was a very disappointing experience right from the start when we checked into our very small room which smelled as if it was just fumigated. We couldn't get rid of the smell the whole stay. The rooms are small and oddly planned - from your bed you stare at a microwave mounted into a small kitchenette opposite the bed. Why they have a microwave but no kettle or even a cup is a total mystery. Once you The rooms face internal courtyard and share common hallway with no noise insulation you are woken by late arriving guests. The pool area is in the shade, very small and not very clean or where you want to spend any time. It seemed that a lot of thought went into design of the common area and the restaurant but unfortunately the same could not be said about the rooms which looked very worn and motel-like as if they ran out of funds and inspiration by that time. Given that you are a block away from Four Seasons there hard justification for staying in this substandard room for a small discount.

We understand that our property is not for everyone and regret that we did not meet your expectations.
We take great interest in our Trip Advisor rankings and reviews, incorporating insightful recommendations whenever possible.
Our program of continuous updating, renovation and redecoration contributes to the simple elegance our guests enjoy and that you commented on visiting our redesigned restaurant, lounge and lobby.
The design and layout of our pool setting, landscaping and dock areas assure both sun and shade throughout the day and onto sunset over the Intracoastal waterway. At the time of your visit, Fort Lauderdale was experiencing high winds instead of our usual balmy breezes. Keeping flying landscaping out of the pool can become a catch-up sport, particularly overnight.
We are very sensitive to aromas whether from the Secret Garden Restaurant or from fresh paint, and remove offensive smells immediately. On double checking, we were unable to detect any odors in your room.
We invite our guests to visit out website where we believe discriminating visitors will discover the elegant elements that create the Pillars experience.

The Pillars hotel is a very special place for anyone who needs to relax and be pampered.
The staff are excellent, thoughtful, always available when needed.
The food is just the best. Fresh, good menu choices, great atmosphere.
I have enjoyed my stay every time I visited Ft. Lauderdale. My wife and I have agreed it is our home away from home.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, very clean and comfortable. The ground floor is our preference

“I hidden treasure in Ft. Lauderdale”

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Ft. Lauderdale where we stayed at the Pillars Hotel located on the Intercoastal waterway. If you are looking for a romantic, quiet place to getaway and reconnect with your significant other, this is definitely the place to go. Make sure to make reservations for dinner on the dock; you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 108 and loved it.

“rest and relaxation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I recently enjoyed a 3 night stay in this little oasis. It is located close to the A1A but on the intercoastal, very quite and serene. The rooms are small, but well appointed. The pool area is nicely landscaped and without the rows of chaises you normally see in a hotel pool area. It is more like a private residence.

The service is attentive but not intrusive. Whenever needed they responded quickly and effeciently.

The food, both from room service and in the restaurant was absolutely top notch. I recommend making a reservation for dinner at least one night.

I will be back.

“Beautiful stay at the Pillars”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

This is a lovely, hidden gem in Ft. Lauderdale, located directly on the Intracoastal waterway. We were there when the hotel was fully booked, but it felt as if we were the only ones around. Definitely make a reservation for dinner on the dock--well worth it, and absolutely beautiful. The food at the hotel is great. This is a small property, so there isn't always someone at the front desk, so sometimes you need to wait for service. But if you know that going in, then it's not a big deal. They are extremely helpful. The room was spacious and very clean. We usually stay in hotels such as the Ritz and St. Regis, and we really enjoyed this small inn. Highly recommended for a very quiet getaway.

Room Tip: If you don't like being on the ground floor, be sure to specify. Ground floor rooms look out di...
