We rented a car in Ft. Lauderdale and used a coupon for the motel. Upon arrival, we asked to see a room before we committed. The owner was so polite and showed us a room. We were pleasantly surprised the room was so clean and well kept. The pool is next door and the beach is minutes away. The bed was comfy, parking was close and the staff was so very polite. It is nice to see a small motel compete with excellent service and an affordable price. We came back through Ft. Lauderdale and stayed another night. We would certainly stay at Galt Villas again.

The Galt Villas provided a great break at a stressful time. The room was an efficiency, with a stove, full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. The kitchen utensils and dishes were limited, but some tasty meals got cooked with what was there..
It took about seven to eight minutes to walk to the beach, but there was no trouble and there were walk lights on the main road.
To use a pool you have to go next door, but the availability is there. There is a Winn-Dixie across the street and some nicer Publix stores a quick drive.
There is a charge for all outgoing phone calls, but none for incoming. A $10 deposit is necessary to turn on the phone.
The room was not large, but worked. The bathroom was clean.
A planned two night stay became one of five nights.

I choose this motel based upon the reviews. First of all I was under the impression that the beach was nearby. It was not unless one believes a 20 min walk which includes crossing a busy street close to the beach. Second, I did not like the policy of the motel requiring payment for the entire stay once you check in. However, that was not the most unpleasant experience during the stay at this motel. When I walked into the room, I was overcome by the musty faint cigarette smell which the staff tried to disguise with a candle. But the worst of the worst was the discovery of Bedbugs which I found on the mattress on the second night of my stay. I immediately told the manager who tried to deny that it was not bedbugs, however she relented and found me another room. Needless to say, I checked out first thing in the morning. There are many reasons not to stay at this motel.

You can feel the hospitality when you talk to anyone who works at Galt Villas. They were happy to accept our online discount coupon, even in February. The location was ideal. It was an easy walk to shops and dining places for all tastes and budgets (even with a Jazz club and dance floor), the beach, and Winn-Dixie grocery store. Just a few miles across the Intracoastal waterway are malls, shops, and more restaurants. There was ample parking. Our clean, no-smoking room had a comfy king-sized bed, fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee maker, ceiling fan, A/C, and phone. I liked the oceanic aqua wall paint.

This is not a lavish hotel, but it's clean and has everything you need. Although the bathtub was pink (it was clean and fully functional), the bedroom was small (but the storage and bathroom made up for it), and the TV was old-style, I still think Galt Villas is a wonderful place to stay because of the staff, price, cleanliness, and most of all the location.
