“Great Clean and Friendly Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I stayed at the hotel with a few friends for a weekend getaway. We did not regret it! We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale extremely early on thursday but we where sent up to our room right away! What a pleasant surprised this hotel was! The room was very specious (we where four in there and never felt cramped) clean with nice comfortable beds and clean bathroom. We where on the 12th floor overlooking the beach and pool area, so we had a great view every morning. The front desk staff, especially Thomas Santiago where very helpful and welcoming. The valet attendants where always at the disposition to help and the servers at the pool area where great as well. Overall it was a great stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

“Full service, beautiful hotel”

I stayed here for work for a conference. This is a full-service hotel and resort with many amenities and services. It is in a great location. The beach is right across the street. There are several restaurants with in walking distance. The pool area was nice and had a pool bar / restaurant. The rooms and the decor are very modern. There is a Shula's restaurant in the hotel which was pricey but fine for an appetizer and a drink.

There is a CVS within walking distance which was convenient if you wanted to pick up sodas, water, snacks etc.

I can't speak to pricing since it was direct billed to my company and the hotel offered a special rate for the weekend after the conference. But I would stay here again.

“Hard to beat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

After some very average performances at other name hotels in lauderdale, this was by far the best. Everything from the time I checked in till check-out was first class , especially the beds and linen, superb. Friendly, helpful staff, only problem was slow breakfast service in shula's, but prepared to overlook, maybe they had staff off. Recommend.

“Lots of little irritations / Nickel and diming”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

This property was just OK. We found most things to be either mediocre to frustrating.

They require valet parking, which is $25 a day. That added up to another $100 on the bill for us because we were on vacation for 4 nights.

The service was unremarkable. The staff did what they had to and not much more. I would describe few if any as friendly. One request for additional supplies was lost in translation and required four visits from housekeeping to straighten out.

The food was passable but very expensive. A lunch for two at the pool with one cheap drink each was $54. That also added up after a couple meals.

The rooms are very small, especially for what we were paying. I liked the partial ocean view (It was a pretty darn good view of the ocean), but there are no balconies anywhere in either tower which is frustrating. Also, there is VERY little privacy in the bathrooms. They have sliding pocket doors with wooden slats and an cutout to the bedroom with a shutter to close (also wooden slats). Even a married couple needs a bit of privacy every once in a while!
The rooms are also VERY humid, so towels and bathing suits rarely dried in less than 36+ hours.

They only allot a certain number of towels and beach chairs per room each day, and they act like they're doing a favor by giving you that much. If you want an umbrella spot on the beach it'll cost you $20, even if no one else is sitting there.

Overall, it really feels like they're nickel-and-diming you for something that already costs an arm and a leg. It was fine but overall didn't feel worth the cost.
