We stayed in January of this year and found a gem. The location is between the beach and best shopping street in town. Either is within walking distance, circa 10-15 min. The owners are very helpful, and the decoration of the apartments is first rate. We highly recomend it.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in Oct/Nov 04, on our 4th visit to the Ft Lauderdale area. Our first impression was that the photos on the website had been doctored, as they do make the property look far more spacious than it actually is; the site itself is very small. Internally, the apartments (we saw 2) are very, very dated and it was somewhat time warp like to be in an apartment which seemed to have been frozen in time in 1979. It is furnished with huge leather couches (odd in such a hot climate) and a very personal selection of ornaments and paintings. It wasn't to our taste at all, but did, in fairness, make a pleasant change to the anonymity of hotel rooms.

The apartments were kept very clean, with maid service and fresh linens on Mon/Wed and Fri. The pool and pool area was also very pleasant, and there's a guest laundry facility.

The HUGE drawback for us was that the owners are trying to sell off a couple of the apartments at the moment, and we found the constant presence of a realtor a real pain. We were not warned when we arrived that our holiday would be interrupted in this way, nor did we receive any apologies for the constant intrusions. These included returning back to our apartment from a day out, only to discover that it was being shown to potential buyers - and then being asked to wait outside whilst the viewing concluded; being "sold to" by a realtor whilst sitting by the pool; and being unable to either park or exit the lot due to being blocked in by buyers on an open day. None of these events were ever acknowledged or apologised for by the owners, and we ended up feeling as if we were in the way.

Ignore the claims that you can walk to the beach - you emphatically can not.

We would return, but only after we'd checked that the realtors weren't going to be around. Location is terrific, and luckily that makes up for a lot.

Excellent bedroom apartments with kitchen. Large, clean and quiet with large heated pool. Very convenient location to beaches and shopping.
But you will need a car.

The appartments are described nice in Fodor's Frommer's but that must have been more than ten years ago, when they was first reviewed by them. Nowadays, they are rather down and the entire area is not residential anymore but rather a collection of cheap appartments.The hosts are not helpful at all, rather unfriendly, and become outright threatening when we issued complaints about the beds which were in terrible shape. This is really not a place you want to spend your holidays.
