After staying in By-Eddy Motel we moved to Florida :) No kidding! We lived there for more than a month and it was a wonderful experience! First of all it is located in a very nice place, everything is close to it: the most beautiful and not crowded part of the beach, a great mall Galleria (with Macy’s, Dillards, etc.), Publix is just in a block from By-Eddy, there are also lots of nice restaurants and cafes nearby! The hotel itself stands on Sunrise Blvd but it is situated not by the road and faces a small street with no traffic. Usually when I stay in hotels I do not feel comfortable because even if the rooms look clean you can feel that things are alien to you. Everything was different with By-Eddy!!! When we came in everything was so shiny, white and clean that I suspected that all the furniture is new! Moreover the rooms are very spacious and our room remained spacious despite of our six pieces of luggage! The kitchen is one of the reasons why By-Eddy is so popular. Though I did not cook much I appreciate convenience and it was convenient to have a huge fridge : ) the kitchens are well-equipped. The hotel is not big and it is perfect for people like me who value privacy, moreover the territory is so beautiful with divine birds and exotic flowers, you feel like the heroes from the Blue Lagoon movie : ) By the way the pool is awesome, always clean, warm and empty : ) You can also make a bbq by the pool and eat outside in the fresh area, smell the flowers and the ocean breeze! I told my parents about the hotel and they joined us on the vacation, they got the next room from ours and there was a door between the rooms so we had a huge apartment with two bathrooms! And I would like to thank people who maintain this beauty and helped us in all the situations! Thank you Alma and Serge! You are very nice people and we were really lucky to find this place! I recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to spend marvelous time in Fort Lauderdale, as for me I am sure we could not find a better place to stay not even in those huge brand-name hotels where everyone is indifferent to you. After this month in By-Eddy we realized that Florida is for us and we want to stay here and so we moved : )

We stayed at By Eddy both prior and after two weeks cruising in the Caribbean. We needed somewhere not too expensive and convenient to the cruise ship terminal. This was perfect.

Flying from Sydney, we had to change planes in LA and Dallas before finally arriving in Fort Lauderdale just before midnight. By Eddy was a gratifyingly short trip from the airport (about 10 minutes) and, though the office isn't open this late, we had arranged prior for our key to be left out for us. This was done and there was a lovely note that we could check in any time the next morning - no need to wake up early. Our room was on the ground floor (fantastic since we had heavy bags with us) and was next to the pool.

Breakfast is not included, but there are a couple of fast food options nearby - Wendys (not the icecream stores we have in Australia, this is a burger place), Hungry Jacks and Dunkin' Donuts. Not exactly healthy, but certainly convenient. There is also a Walmart nearby, and they have fresh as well as packaged food. For lunch and dinner there are a couple more options - a Greek restaurant (more like a diner, but the staff are lovely and the food was gorgeous) and Tijuana Flats (Mexican restaurant - the food and atmosphere is amazing, the prices very reasonable, and look out for the hottest chilli sauce in the world!).

By Eddy is not really in a tourist area, but there were a few shops within walking dstance for us to browse. We were happy laying by the pool most days. It is heated, but just enough to take the chill off. Soft music is piped into the area too. It isn';t huge, but we were often the only ones in there, so it certainly wasn't crowded.

The rooms were large and neat, with everything we needed. The two queen beds were comfortable and the blinds on the windows kept the light out more than admirably. There was a small kitchenette, but we didn't really use it for anything but tea and coffee. The bathroom was a nice size and well ventilated. The air conditioner was a little on the loud side, as was the fridge, but they didn't particularly bother me - as long as they work well!
The owner/operator was a lovely French Canadian man who helped us out with taxis and the like.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at By Eddy and would certainly stay there again if we were to find ourselves back in Fort Lauderdale.

This place was quite, clean, spacious and very welcoming. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else and I have been to most hotels in Fort Lauderdale. Very friendly people. Perfect for anyone. couples, children, family, single person. You will love it. It has everything you need to BBQ, nice big pool, big kitchen, big everything and it has washer and dryer for anyone to use. It was great and I would of loved to stay longer. Ten days wasn't enough but will go back soon I hope. Thank you.

This is a real great place to stay. Friendly service, good price and clean rooms. Would definetly stay again.
