A few months before our scheduled stay, we have called Sunrise Inn front office and made a reservation with one of the owners. We reserved a room with two queen beds for our 2 night stay. On arrival at the motel, Friday night, we were offered a room with a single bed, a much smaller room than one we have reserved. The clerk told us that we could get our reserved room but at a higher price. Tired from a long road trip from Chicago, we did not have the energy to look for another hotel. We were informed that only the motel owner could give us our reserved room at the agreed price. Since we could not reach an agreement with the front office clerk, we took the available room and were promised the owners would resolve the issue when they returned. As we did not hear from the owners the next day, we spoke to yet a different front office clerk. She assured us the owners are aware of our problem and would contact us when they return later that day. Needles to say, the owners never contacted us during our two night stay. My wife finally saw the owners on Monday morning, during our check-out. Both Maria and Krzysztof were at the office. The owners informed my wife that they could not help us with our reservation because they do not work on weekends. It is true that Sunrise Inn is run by a family who lives on site, but if you have a problem, it does absolutely nothing for you if you cannot get a hold of them.
Room Tip: If you reserve your room over the phone, ensure you receive confirmation in writing.
