“Low cost basic motel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012 via mobile

I stayed here just after Thanksgiving while on a bus tour to the Keys. It appears that a number of tours use this motel as a jumping off point to Key West.

The room was servicable and several chain restraunts were within walking distance.

The breakfast was basic with lines if more than one bus group is starting their tour day at the same time.

In essance, a low cost basic motel at the entrance to the keys

Basic accommodations - clean, close to shopping and the Keys. Wi-Fi was erratic - worked sometimes, other times did not. Too cold to use the pool (not heated). Bed mattresses were too hard and only double beds (not queen+)

Thank you for your comments. We have been working on the WI-FI with the provider so it will be more reliable for our guests. We understand it is a service that we all need nowadays. Hope you enjoyed your trip and please visit us again.

“Great Location for the Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Recommended by folks at Country Inns & Suites as they were full.
Fresh paint and good night sleep - clean but older for sure. We were up early and had a great day adventure driving to Key West. Good value - breakfast was crowded, albeit free so we went to Denny's across the street. My choice next visit!

Room Tip: ask for renovated room

“Expensive for what it is!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Yes, location is good, even if we almost miss it, but the room is not so clean and the parking lot is a very busy area (we were there between Christhmas and New year's Eve and some very loud music played somewhere at night in the parking or in a room). There is a space between the door and the door frame allowing the sound to be heard loud in the room...Even the maid with her caddie seems to be in the room when on the sidewalk... So we didn't sleep the first night. The place seems to be a popular place to stop for the workers on the many farms on the area. So expect a lot of noise when they chat together outside night or day. In the morning, you could also enjoy the noise of their trucks, pick-ups and others machineries. Beside the noise, I didn't find the beds very safe (neitheir the area!) in terms of bed bugs (but we didn't find any) or cleaness. The neon of the sink area was broken and nobody could come after 4pm. We were told that someby would come the day after but the neon was still there -and off- but the cover and srews were left beside the wall on the room! Some others elements on the room were broken but we didn't care. This is a huge motel with many buildings and the is only a little so tiny area for the so-called free breakfast. The first morning we eat our own breakfast in the room, but the second day we tought we could rely on them... and we were not the only ones to find that we could'nt. This tiny place has only 10 (max) places to sit, a sealed donut, very small cups for the coffee (there was none left) and for a little orange juice. Nothing else. We were almost 30 people to come at the same time for breakfast, just to realise it was a real joke! The pool on the parking was not really inviting, and the WIFI was very slow but it worked. I've booked with Expedia, they take full payment in advance, and we should be able to cancel without penalties till the day before arrival. That day, I've tried to cancel the third night -30 minutes in my cell phone with itinerance fees- and they firmly refuse to refund me. Don't book with Expedia. I'm not the only one to be stolen by them.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 2nd floor. You would be able to open the curtains.

“Nothing fancy but good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

person found this review helpful

This is a bare bones motel that is a good home base for exploring the Everglades. If you're going to be out exploring a swamp all day, who needs fancy accommodations? The room was a bit shabby but very clean with a small fridge and microwave. Convenient location with great plenty of restaurants (chains AND fun local places) nearby.

We are so glad you took the time to comment and hope you enjoyed visiting our area. We have many things to see such as Everglades National Park, Everglades Alligator Farm, Biscayne National Park, Coral Castle and the Miami Metro Zoo isn't too far away. One can take a daytrip to the Florida Keys or South Beach also. We are an affordable place to stay and provide a continental breakfast to get you started each day. Thank you again for your comments.
