“OK for the price.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

Stayed here for just one night on our way back from Georgia. Had hoped to get a balcony view of the Ocean but I think these are few and far between as the Sandy Bottoms restaurant obscures most views from the Ocean facing rooms. Notwithstanding that the hotel is clean and tidy, and the rooms are best described as functional. On balance fine for an overnight stop and good value for money.

Room Tip: Try to get an ocean facing room if you can.

“So much better than the price would indicate!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I read a lot of the reviews before booking this hotel, and was kind of expecting to be just ok at best. The price could not be beat, so we took a chance and totally were happy. We stayed in a queen suite. Plenty of space for us - we wanted to spend our time on the beach, not in the room, but we had our own little living/kitchen area separate from the bedroom, and could practically step out of the hotel onto the sand. It was super clean and smelled great - one thing I was worried about after a few of the reviews, but it was not a problem. The bed is firm, but not too hard like a few hotels we have stayed at. The walls are probably a little on the thin side, so if you want to feel like you are the only one at the hotel, stay somewhere else. But everyone was respectful of the hour and we didn't hear anything at night. Lovely time, and we'll definitely be back. I thought the location was great. If you want the Ritz Carlton experience for 275 a night, then go there. If you want to stay for under a hundred, stay here!

“Accidental find...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

My husband had planned our vacation and we were staying at the hotel across the street. It touted oceanfront and oceanview rooms. It failed to tell us that the hotel was separated from the ocean by a empty parking lot, a gas station and our room on the second floor had a telephone line running right outside the window. Without bashing that hotel any further, I set out to find a suitable alternative. We walked across the street to The Seaside Amelia Inn. The lady on duty was so kind as to allow us to go upstairs and look at the one room she had available. I spent the one night that was already locked in with the miserable "other place" and by nine a.m. I was checked into my new vacation spot at Amelia Inn. The room had one bedroom with separate living area with pull out sofa sleeper. It also had a kitchenette with mini fridge and microwave. The view was spectacular. The ocean!!! There was nothing unsightly impeding my view. The hotel provided free wi-fi and my cell service was accessible in the room. Those are two major things for me. The rooms were clean, airy and very cheery. There is a playground downstairs. I did not utilize the pool or the restaurant.

“great and errors....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

Not easy to analyse this hotel.... the location is pleasant but it's in the middle of nowhere, in front of the beach but there is a restaurant just between with bad odours trying to be covered by vanilla perfume.... The picture shows you the best view but even you gamble... you 'll not get this view.... only for the second floor and the "suite" front beach to see above the restaurant....

Inside, studios are very small but well decorated in tropic style with a fan, a kind of wooden style curtains and a classic white bed cover. Error on the TV position as it is fixed on the side of the bed.... No table or chairs and limited space for opening the luggage. Flour was not cleaned as the corridors .... incredible for an hotel of this category !!!!

The balcony is well found and certainly pleasant too but mine was on the street and the balcony light , always on during the night, don't give you the total dark in you bedroom.....

Another error is the mirror not in front of the bassin and the roll paper behind you when sitten just above the ground.... why ????

The very good point is the great breakfast with quantity and variety, a room for that and a classy deco....

in summary, not sure it's a deal for this range of price.... the beach location don't erase all these bad points and errors...

“Great Room with a view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

We were on the 2nd floor with room facing the ocean. Yes there was Sandy Bottoms roof in front but only took up half the view. For the price we paid it was great. The room was small but all remodeled. Flat screen TV, wet bar, nice bath with walk in shower. Had a patio with 2 chairs facing the ocean. We loved it and plan on going back. We live in Middleburg FL so its not far for us to go just for a getaway weekend. The restaurant on the beach called Sandy Bottoms was great too. Good food and nice people. The only one thing about the whole thing that was negitive was the bed wasn't that comfy. The pillows were great and it was all white and clean.

Room Tip: We were directly in the middle
