We tried two different rooms and you could just feel the dirt and filth in the air. Our rooms weren't vacuumed or mopped and there was nasty (i don't know what) all of the walls.

This place needs a serious over haul.

You can rent a room in Port charlotte 20 minutes away at the Microtel for the same price! the microtel makes you feel like you're at a 4 star hotel compared to this place!

Arrived at hotel a little earlier than anticipated on Friday. A quick call to the hotel assured us there would be no problem with an early check in. The front desk clerk, Mary, was very polite and helpful both on the phone when I made reservations as well as in person. It appears this facility may no longer be affiliated with Day's Inn. It's now listed as Englewood Inn & Suites. I have to admit I was a little nervous about booking there from the previous reviews. Something must have changed since the last negative one in Oct of last year. While Englewood Inn & Suites is still not a five star hotel it is a nice place to rest your head. Rooms were a nice size, very clean with updated furnishings. Plenty of towels and toiletries. The only complaint I had is that the beds were a little on the small side. We had 2 double beds in our room. But that wasn't really that big of a deal. The hotel has a pool. My daughter and I enjoyed that both days we were there. Beaches are about 5 minutes away, there's grocery stores and a Wal-Mart nearby but not many chain restaraunts to choose from. Overall, our stay at the Englewood Inn & Suites was a very pleasant surprise.

Did not actually stay...however we went to see about booking there for my folks. We were allowed to look at a room. Ohmygawd, I did not know you could rent out flop houses??!!
Horrible, dirty, furniture from a garge sale or the Dump [which is just up the road], holes in the wall from door knobs or/and fistfights.
Smelly too.
The woman at the desk was curt but she did let us look around. As we live in the area, Days Inn knows that there are only about 4 small hotel/motels in the area. An area that is vast developing, so there is no competition...for now. Please, if you stay in Englewood, don't go to Day's Inn, it needs vacancies to turn itself around!

I stayed here and when I went to the front desk to complain of the conditions of my room... all I got a was a bunch of attitude from the OWNER. I then wrote to corporate to tell them of the conditions but it was explained to me that it was a franchise and they have no control over things. I would highly recommend that you stay far away from this trash hole. We were paid in full for a week and could not get a refund but the conditions were so bad we decided to take the loss and stay down the road at the Veranda inn. Accommodations at the Veranda Inn were much cleaner; people friendlier.
