Been to Destin last weekend and our stay in Hampton Inn was perfect.Hotel location is great. Just a few steps away from the public beach access.The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. You get to enjoy nice hot and free breakfast. Overall it was more than nice experience for the price we paid.

This Hampton inn has much to be desired, and seems like they are taking budget cutting measures to either make more profit, or they are just too cheap to upgrade. The room cleaning service tries to get in before 8:00am unless you have the do not disturb sign out, does a mediocre job at best, and turns the whole room around in less than 15 minutes. The flat screen tv constantly needed to be rebooted, and had many issues, there were a total of 4 outlets in the room, all inconveniently located, furniture was dated, dirty, stained, and in dire need of upgrading. Second floor ice machine did not work more than it did. Only one wash machine worked,and breakfasts were not your usual good food. It is a short walk to the beach, and if you like smoking, this is your place. No smoking rooms available, but people smoke outside the rooms in the common hallway balcony, leaving all their residue and smell in the
Hallway. I've stayed at countless Hampton inns all throughout the country, even at this one previously, and this time had convinced me to never stay here again, until some major renovations have taken place. I hope corporate takes a good look at this place and decides it is time to do something.

Our vacation rental was not available until the day after our arival so we reserved a night at the Hampton. From the time we checked in to the time we left the next day, the staff and rooms were perfect! I had two 18 yr olds, 13 and 11yr olds and myself and got a family suite with full kitchen. Rooms are large, clean and quiet! Located directly across from the amusement park and one local street over from the beach and great resturants. If we had known that this was as nice of a hotel, we would have reserved the whole week. If I were to have one complaint, it would be on myself for not getting up and going to try their breakfast.

First of all, let me start by saying that I was not looking for a luxury hotel when we stayed here. Just wanted a clean, affordable and comfortable place that was close to the beach. With that said, besides being a good location, I have nothing good to say about this place.
It was filthy, run down, smelled dusty and like cigarettes.
Also, the servive left a lot to be desired. Called front desk one night to get an extra pillow and they said they ran out of them! Another day room service came before 8 am, while we were still sleeping, so I asked if they could come back later that day. They assured me they would. However, when we returned that evening, nobody had come back to clean the room or take out the trash.
Also, seems like this hotel is in a bad reception zone (cell phones). My cell phone and XM radio automatically lost signal as soon as I got to the light in front of the hotel (but worked at every other place in Destin!). Could sporadically make phone calls or text if I stood right next to the bathroom sink.
Like I said before, that I could just cross a small street and be at the beach with the kids in a minute was the only positive thing about this place.
