We stayed in the St Maarten building last spring and liked it so much we came back for a week for our summer vacation.
This place beats staying in any hotel in Destin and offers a perfect location plus many amentities. It has a very long beach which is private which makes it great for families.
There is a tki hut set up at the beach behind the pool area where drinks and sandwiches are served but we had no issues bringing our own coolers right onto the beach.
The water - oh the water - in mid to late summer in gets perfectly calm and you can see the little fish swimming around your toes:) And its like a warm bath water....
Fishing - tons of choices abound from the beach to the pier and if you want to spend a couple bucks you can charter a deep sea trip for about $175 per hour. We did and caught enough red snapper to pay for our trip!
Where to stay - all the building are not equal. St Croix is older and more of a hotel set up. And sits behind the pool.
St Lucia is the lowest end of the buildings but is newer with limted gulf views.
St Thomas and St Barths have rental restrictions.
The top building for a vacation is St Maarten. It is gulf front with some terrific views. We stayed on the bottom floor (called the 2nd floor due to the garage being 1) and liked it for younger kids as the terrace area is huge. Not all condos were alike as we stayed in one which was nice but not spectacular whereas friends of ours stayed in a bottom floor 2 BR that would rival a Ritz!
Overall - very nice place!
