My family has just returned from a week long vacation at the Blue Surf. It was our first true 'family' vacation with our two young children, ages 2 and 3. The Blue Surf exceeded our expectations and provided the perfect environment for our young family.

In planning this vacation, we were searching for a bit of privacy, away from the generic Spring Break atmosphere. B/c it is located far to the east of larger, highrise condos and hotels, we managed to avoid the hustle and bustle! A short walk across the street lands you on beautiful white beaches--again, populated more by families and older couples. On that same walk you will find Pompano Joe's, a local restaurant with a laidback atmosphere and great seafood. Back at Blue Surf, there is a quaint pool that is well maintained. My children enjoyed playing on the 4 steps that stretch the entire width of the pool--perfect for beginning swimmer's to enjoy. The grounds are well maintained with flowers and palm trees making a pretty backdrop from one of the two balconies in the units.

We stayed in unit 11B. It was very clean and welcoming. It had a direct view of the gulf and pool from each balcony. The master bedroom/bath are small, but the king size bed is beyond comfortable! The upstairs bedroom is larger, with both a queen and twin bed. Our boys loved sharing this room! Downstairs in the kitchen, you will find it fully stocked with any and every dish/pot/pan/utensil/appliance you could possibly ever need--I've never vacationed in a rental that had so much on hand! A nice bonus is the washer/dryer. After a week of vacationing, I was able to return home with clean laundry as opposed to the mounds that generally accumulate!

As a side note, the management company we used provided a 'family fun pack' with discounts and tickets, including a free round of golf for EACH DAY, free movie rentals, tickets to the local amusement park and tickets for a dolphin cruise. With a young family and a husband that golfs, this was a huge bonus! I think I've more than conveyed our satisfaction with the Blue Surf! We are already looking forward to returning in the future!
